Ah but Jim if an 8 is (8.00 and 8.99) Then your Jordan bump was a mistake (if it went from an 8 to a 9)

If PSA can make mistakes and under grade cards then they can over grade cards (and they do)

Like I said, I'm sure your cards were "strong" 8's anyway.

Good point Jason--nice to know that for the occasional mistake that it can break in my favor--I'd like to believe they are(strong 8s) but when you have so many of them by definition they gravitate toward the average.

Jim

Jim are you looking at the cards and trying to see if they deserve the bump or just sending them in? If you are just sending the cards in without really checking them out i would say your bump percentage is great right now.

Marshall he is sending them all in.

Guys why do you all insist that he is getting
his reviews done for free?

He never said that, he said he had a deal.

I suppose someone here interpreted that as 'free'

and it has perpetuated itself.

At least 3 times Jim himself has come here and said

he only got a deal. He would not elaborate but never

ever said he was getting it done gratis.

Steve

What is so surprising?

Every day hundreds, if not thousands of coins are cracked out of their case and sent to grading
services.

Dealers and Investors making $100,000+ bets that a coin will move up from a 65 to a 66 or 66 to 67

Why should cards be any different?

Jim- good one, but I have an even better idea:

Only tax the half point bump from the rich collectors, and then take that money and give it to the poor and lazy collector. Now that's a good system! happy.gif

Jim, do you know how many stimulus checks you could send out just from that Jordan RC bump? I'm not sure how much stimulus would actually occur from those checks but I bet you'd at least stimulate some activity to and from mailboxes.

But Jeff- it's a pretty long walk from my house to the mailbox. Couldn't I get an unemployed banker to go get it and hand deliver it to my front door?

Not if the banker is in jail...which is where many probably should be, or maybe we can reserve those spaces for the CEO's.

Barry, just pace yourself. Wake up...eat some Cocoa Puffs...turn on the TV. Maybe make some coffee. Take a few steps outside -- not too fast. Then maybe read the paper a bit longer. Take a few more steps. Eventually you'll get there. And when you do...won't it be worth it?

But Barry, with your check you'll be able to upgrade to the good stuff. And I'd be happy to help you out there. There's no good reason why a fine American like you shouldn't have the good stuff for breakfast.

Barry, Jim only received a handful of upgrades, let's not get crazy. I'll be sending a bunch in soon, however, and I'll keep you in the loop on the results. Let's keep our fingers crossed -- we're in this together.

I'm rooting for you Jeff, and anyone else who takes advantage of PSA's most generous stimulus package.

Please post the results on the board...and see you Tuesday night at the dinner, should be a feast. I'm going back to work.

As you know I am a Republican and proud of it. I am a bit more moderate than you though. My disgust with many of the CEO's in the country has to do with their rewards for a job done so poorly. For any company NOT getting bailed out with my money, and doing well by their stockholders and employees, I don't care if they make a billion dollars a year. Good for them. I am against welfare and think it should be workfare....Kind of like EVERYONE should pay something in taxes....but this can digress quickly to a political thread (has already) and do we really need another of those? best regards

I agree on political thread--I just hate to see comments like many bankers should be in jail or that somehow those spots should be reserved for ceos go unchallenged. These are productive people who have done great things to help our country unlike the leftist politicians who run our country that do everything possible to do the opposite.

Leon i must say your stock is rising in regards to the BRING THE NOISE category. This whole bailout is the worst economic decision of our generation. It goes against the free enterprise system and if you talk to any hard working poor to middle class person they are not for the current bailout! I personally cannot do anything about it so all i can do is head to the 2-year old in training sale at Ocala and grab a Unbridled Song offspring for about 1/2 of what i would have paid a year ago.

Jim i agree with you. I am sick and tired of hearing the words jail, lawsuit and so on. Everyone who has any common sense realizes that Barney Frank had alot to do with the current situation and his name is hardly ever brought up. You cannot sell a 350,000 house to someone making 8 dollars a hour.

I've done it.
I sent 5 cards in that I was confident had been overgraded and explained with the submission that I was sending them back for review because they were overgraded. PSA agreed with me on all 5, sent them back to me properly graded, and sent me a grading voucher for the value difference.
FWIW, 4 of the cards had back issues that had been missed (1 wrinkle, 1 pencil mark, and 2 miscuts), while the other didn't meet centering standards for the original grade.
