SMR on E94 Close Candy
Posted By: WP
Has any one here ever looked at the online SMR for this issue? Check out the Byrne, Doolan and Magee cards. Any explanations? |

most people here don't bother with the SMR when it comes to vintage issues because the values are so far. I'm sure we all wish PSA was in the business of selling cards for what they list them in the SMR. |

I think SMR is most off on caramels. Compare recent Mastro prices on E93s with SMR prices. For example McGraw in a 6 is listed at $750 and the one in Mastro closed at over $4600 with juice. I think every other E93 went for at least 3x SMR. |

The prices on the cards I indicated seem high. |

That would be a first if the SMR has cards overvalued. They are usually undermarket by multiples. |

What are the online SMRs for the Byrne, Doolan and Magee? In Mastro, in PSA 5 they went for close to $700 each when the commission is figured in. |

The funny thing is that for pre-war cards, SMR and SCD can be valuable guides if one knows the multipliers or conversions. For example, cards in a set may go for around 2.5x SMR or VG/EX cards in another set might sell for the NM price in SCD. So if one has that basis, when other cards come up for sale, it makes it easier to know what a "reasonable" bidding range is. |

That has to be an error on the SMRs on Doolan, Magee and Byrne, otherwise I am selling all of my cards of these 3 guys and going to the Bahamas Seriously, I wonder if that is why my opposing bidder in the Mastro auction kept upping the bid (these were 3 of the 4 cards in the lot). Hmmmmmmmm..... |
