Default Opinions wanted....does the 1956 Ernie Banks look graded right??

How about this Ernie Banks?? Is this typically what a 2.5 looks like?

I think the damage on the bottom border is what they are knocking the grade down for. I think it is a little under graded. It should be a 3-3.5 in my opinion.

Default Banks?

To bobbyw8469- assuming the unshown back is similar to the front, the
answer is no! Geez, PSA and SGC are in a contest to tear down vintage, aren't
they? It's off by a grade and a half, maybe 2...

I was having a conversation with a fellow collector about this stupid PSA/SGC
peeing contest. I asked if he remembered super model Cindy Crawford from
the late 1980s. He did, and I remarked that PSA would grade her a "2" due
to the mole on her upper lip Idiots!

Is the surface rubbing coming from Banks lip to the bottom edge of the card a crease or bend?

If I'm buying, then 'yep', it's graded correctly. If I'm the seller, it's undergraded.

This looks like one of those cards that need to be looked at with a loop to justify the grade.

No...no crease or bend. I pegged it at a '4'.

It wouldn’t look out of place in a 4 holder. Search through eBay for PSA 4 to see a shinola ton of 4’s that look like this card.

I could see this graded a 4 or at minimum a 3 based on what I see in the scan.

I would also think "4". Assuming no creases, perhaps even a "5" in the early days of grading.
