I got plenty at my eBay store. Here are some of my favorites.

The high graded stamped Jud Smith.

The Gene Krapp card with the rare back "Delicate Aromatic".

The stamped Henry Jansing which was part of the Pollard collection.

Howard, those are fine. Thanks for posting them, but this isn't supposed to be a buy/sell/trade thread > Merely collectors showing some Obaks.

I was thinking of skirting the rules by just showing the ones I have sold in the past, but decided to just post some of my colorful ones.

Here are the only players that I believe are pictured in all 3 sets...note that they used different artwork each year (Obak folks were not lazy). For each player the 1909 card is pictured on left, 1910 in middle, and 1911 on right

Default Lazy

The OBAK guys got lazy between 1910 & 1911 if the player didnt change teams...new backs of course.

I'll show some of mine a bit later.
This is a great trio of card sets!

Brian is correct. I guess they figured that since no team change no need to update...at least there is a different backside!

Default Good Ole Uncle Vic

I grew up with my Grandmother spinning yarns of her Uncle, "the ball player." When I was a kid I got a photo copy of his one baseball cards, and I think a shot of his OBAK cabinet card. I researched him at the Hall of Fame, he was a decent pitcher who threw his arm out after pitching a Triple Header, no one got past Second Base, two shut outs and his arm literally fell off. I finally found and bought my first OBAK in 1998, bought one for Grandma, and the rest of the family and kept a couple for myself (of course).

Nice cards everyone. Obaks are most definitely unique and beautiful. The colors they display are off the charts.

How about original advertising? Does that fit this thread?

Let us not forget the T212-3 uncut sheet Huggins & Scott offered about ten years ago. I remember seeing this in person, I think at one of the Baltimore Nationals.

Picked up this “homemade” point of sale advertisement featuring Tacoma from a local seller off of eBay a while back. Supposedly came out of a local establishment that sold cigs back in the day and was purchased from a descendant at an estate sale (unframed).

I think everybody just roasted back then. Three piece suits on the beach, eight layers of clothes for the women, all that just looks exhausting to me.

I like that! I'm from eastern washington, so the location adds to the beauty! Great find.

Some of my Obaks with Gilliam Squires backstamps, who was a collector from the San Jose, CA area (at least later in life). Always sort of looking for more.

Default one of many

I have a pretty good accumulation of 1910 and 1911 OBAKS for a low grade, binder set.

But because these are the most beautiful cards, I also collect some nicer, slabbed singles. Hogan may be my favorite (today)...it looks like a Kreindler!

And, while I was playing around with my OBAK spreadsheet, I fine tuned it to keep track of the back slogans on the 1910s. It is kinda fun to see how many unique backs I had acquired without really trying (29/35!)
Anyone who is interested in this spreadsheet/calculator, please email me.

I've been sitting on this Weed for a while, but I just got this Krapp in the mail today.

Yeah, it's sad, but I haven't changed much since the fourth grade.

Are there any outrageously rare and expensive cards in this set? I've always wanted to try a pre-war set, but T206 is such that I could never complete it. After building the 2009-2011Tristar Obak sets, I've had this notion bouncing around in my melon about starting on the real Obak.

Thanks.

Without checking, the most expensive cards are probably the Buck Weaver, Chick Gandil, and Ten Million. The 1909 cards are not always easy to find, but they are not super hard either.

I've long thought the 1911 Obak issue was the nicest looking tobacco set of them all.
