To Ryan Smith,

The penalty for fraud is severe buddy so I highly recommend you pull down this post before I take serious legal action. I know this is fraud because my friend and I own BOTH those cards!!!! You have 1 hour to remove this post or else I will pursue legal action! Leon....please do something about this ASAP!

Hey Joe T
I absolutely believe you,
I can easily delete this thread or any posts. That being said, this is one of the bigger scams on the board. I will go out on a limb and say anyone spending 6 figures is going to do their due diligence.

Leon-Did Ryan Smith provide contact information? If so, are you going to discuss this post with him?

Already tried to call him, no answer but a generic voicemail. He is banned. I am sending his info to Joe T....so he can possibly chat with him.

Just so I'm caught up, where might those other scams be so I can be on the lookout for them?

Some have been tried and I would have to do some digging to find them., I am sure of it and I am fairly sure that no scam has been gotten away with. If there were any successful they were tiny.

Showing up where the most knowledgeable collectors congregate and share information is an odd strategy to perpetrate a fraud. Dummy.

Agreed. It would have been interesting to see how he responded to that first post though.

I had the same thought. This guy just basically walked into a police station and was like "want some crack?"

Hey Orlando, I assume this is the same guy in our fantasy football league? I thought it was a little odd when he posted those cards for sale on the league board last week.

Now that we know his lack of ethics, I call for drug-testing of his entire squad for performance enhancing drugs.

Trying to sell an obvious fake Wagner on BST would be hilarious but messing with flips on real cards (I assume that’s what happened) is deplorable. I’m glad this was caught quickly and the simpleton was banned.

This was a guy named Andrew, who tried to convince the Board that he owned the card "in his hand." He offered to trade it for a '52 Mantle and other valuable cards.

It turned out that the card was photoshopped into his hand. The Wagner is the "Nun's Wagner" that had been sold to a rich collector the previous year. Andrew claimed that it had been in his family for decades. It may have been the most ridiculous thread ever.

Those threads are rabbit holes. If you click on them your time will while away almost endlessly if you let it.

Thanks Justin, my day is shot! I just spent the last 20 minutes reading these threads and have resigned to dedicate the balance of my afternoon to this most entertaining set of threads.

And BTW -- is it possible that this guy could be the one known as "Assclown" that someone mentioned and banned on another equally entertaining thread? Because reading this Wagner thread, I now know the true definition of Assclown!

My favorite part of this charade is that Andrew took this picture of himself while standing in front of a mirror. He then photoshops the Wagner into his hand. But in the mirror's reflection you can see his fingers, and there is no card in them. This guy really needs to pay more attention to details.
