Default Just another guy putting together a T205 set one card at a time...

So I've got a few sets going at the same time - Diamond Stars, 51' Bowman, 54' Topps and 56' Topps - but going to focus my efforts on T205 for the time being...so far, here's my progress to date:

- 41/215
- 7 HofF (Brown, Jennings, Marquard, Mathewson, Speaker, Wallace w/ Cap & Wheat)

- all PSA 3 or SGC 40 except Chase - Both Ears (PSA 4) & Wheat (SGC 50)

My latest pick ups below...

Very nice. You are some of my competition ...

..and let's all please be careful when uploading pics to our forum from any outside hosting service. If they are 3x the size of your screen, they need to be made smaller before posting. These were resized from the tapatalk download... thanks to all....

Thanks Leon! I'm hoping to spend about $30-35 per common, but that is proving to be somewhat difficult...am I being realistic?

Great cards btw! I'm at about 80/2?? myself.

Default Love it.

I'm going for the Piedmont Factory 42 set. It's been more difficult than I expected. I just picked up these 2.

from what I have seen it all depends on condition. You can get some that don't look quite as nice for a fair amount less. I am trying to keep mine somewhat uniform...I have quite a few to add...

I've been working on the same set in about the same 3-4 range for a few years now. I've got most of the HOFs and SPs and a good amount of the verations but still need around half the commons.

Good hunting guys it's a fun and beautiful set.

Default Thomas pick up....

Been a little slow lately. Hard to find nice, cheap T205s I need, which fit the characteristics I want...Plus, set collecting is sort of new for me ....

Default Yay

My one and only T205. Stained Honest long cut back.

I really don't understand the backs on t205's. I have found dozens of the Otis Crandall crossed T's sold but can only find a few with Honest.

Anyone have a good primer I can look at to understand cards/backs?

Been busy hunting T205s in my off time....O'Leary is the 4 card back, as his front doesn't fit well with the rest, but it's my collection and it doesn't matter to me..

Holy cow, Leon! Where do you find all of the relatively uniform, raw T205s? I never see them!

There's just something about seeing the T205s all together like that. It seems most of the ones I see for sale are slabbed. I only own two or three 205s, and they are slabbed. Makes me want to buy some ungraded ones and free my slabbed ones, if I had the courage...

And I have been eyeing a few more!!

I am being a very picky lower grade T205 collector on these. They have to be well centered and not have a lot of chipping on the borders. The only outliers are cards with special attributes I pick up along the way ie...green borders, blue borders, 4 partial backs etc......It's been fun so far and gives me something I can almost always work on. And my latest pick up...

Hey! I'm working on one of these as well...albeit strictly a National League set.

So quick question. I'm looking for a sanity check and double-checking my math...I've got the National League section at a total of 105 players. I'm not including any variations or multiple player poses but strictly just 105 individual players.

Is this the number everyone else has?

Thanks in advance.

Nothing better than a mislabeled slab and a poorly titled eBay auction to boot. Thanks for saving me a bundle of cash, PSA!

Just picked up this group of 83 T205's ranging from PR to EX condition. Always fun to upgrade. Many will be available.

Nice haul. I've been working on a set for a couple years. It's been a little slower lately but I did recently pick up a nice Collins Mouth Open. I've already forgotten what the opinion on the slab said...

Great cards guys. Just scanned a few new additions today too....(a few were slight upgrades). Still trying to stay lower technical grade but a few 5s have popped in. None of these are high grade.....2s-4s...It's been fun so far.....

I just recently got my 111th T205, putting me at 50% for the master set. I'm working on a mostly PSA 4 set, but will take PSA 3s with high-end eye appeal.

Late to respond but will have to check. Unlike almost all of my previous collecting I am not concerned with which backs these have any longer. At first I wanted to do PB and HLC backs because of the way the gold borders look. But now I am more focused on centering and chipping...a few added...
