Surprised and a little disappointed that, while everyone seems well aware of Dr Frank's penchant for the obscure,
no one's commented on, or perhaps even noticed, not just one but two brilliantly clever allusions half hidden in
his original post.

We'll let Frank himself reveal them in his 3,000th if nobody else "gets" them first.

To belabor this nonsense further serves no purpose. The referenced post has indeed provoked me and that was the challenge. A visual illusion is deception intended to make the viewer see something that isn't there. A literary allusion can be an indirect reference, whose purpose may clarify meaning, but if undetected or if the indirect reference is unknown to the reader may lead to incomplete understanding or "obscurity".

The provocation comes from the fact that "the two brilliantly clever" allusions, that I allegedly scripted in my original post, are in fact an illusion to me. I have been credited with brilliance, but in reality am ignorant. I cannot reveal them in this post, because I haven't found them yet and may be insane as a result.

I am reminded of Joseph Heller's Catch 22. "Catch-22" refers to a regulation that states an airman's request to be relieved from flight duty can only be granted if he is judged to be insane. However, anyone who does not want to fly dangerous missions is obviously sane, thus, there is no way to avoid flying the missions.

I guess that I have been gored by my own "bull". Kudos to Butch7999 whoever you are. "So it goes.................................."

Default Catch 22

I can't marry you.
Why not?
Because you're crazy.
Why am I crazy?
Because you want to marry me.
