I hear you. And then there are people (on this board) who post wanting to buy something, you offer them market price or even lower, and they reply that it is "too rich" for them, and don't even counter. I guess if you post a buy request on here, you expect the seller to give it away???

You should out him. That's sounds like someone that I would prefer not to do business with. Your original asking price was way more than fair

message board outing doesn't get anyone anywhere.
There's a lot of cool people on here and Blowout (the other forum I frequent) but I 100 percent keep a fu**o list of people I won't deal with.
I won't buy from them no matter how great the deal and their money isn't green to me.

I cannot stand lowballers. They are a joke. If you cannot offer a fair price then move along.

Agreed. There's not much difference between a low-baller and a scammer - both try and take advantage of someone. The only difference is the low-baller tries to act like he's doing you a favor to make you feel good about the deal.

I was a little too late as well. Didn't see it until he posted delete. It sounded like the ask was reasonable.

I guess there's no real harm in it, but it always feels insulting to me, like someone thinks you're stupid.

I would be hoping for a 9 or 9.5 so I could email the guy who offered $200 for the lot a picture.

Unsellable raw? The four I have were bought raw. Should I not have?

When selling this card raw everyone want a dozen pictures from a dozen angles.
Having them grades eliminates any question of condition

My point was that I knew what you meant, even after treading through the poor spelling and grammar. Just like you knew what the gentleman meant when he said the cards were "unsellable".

I am of the opinion that a lot of the "raw" ones you see for sale have been graded previously and the seller did not like what they came back at.
Obviously not the case here.

Over the years I have bought various raw ones but despite great looking scans and descriptions of gem mint blah blah I don't think I ever got one that was better than an 8 quality card.

When you have a card that's worth 30k in a 10, 1200 or so in a 9, and 100 or so raw or in an 8, I think that's to be expected. Obviously if a seller really thought it was gem mint they would have submitted it themselves.

But if you buy say 20-25 cards that look nrmt-mt or better for 50-100 each and get even one PSA 9 and several 7-8s I think you'd come out a little ahead. I would have rolled the dice at around 500 for this lot.

The problem is since we live I'm an ebay and PayPal world if you spend even as little as 300 on this lot and you only think 2 will grade well the buyer can either switch them out or just file a paypal claim.

I'm not saying anyone on the board would do this but it's part of me declaring raw sp jeters unsellable. In my opinion they are just too much of a headache.

not really...raw cards for this type of card and many other cards that need to be a psa 10 or 9 to have value rarely will get 70% of PSA 9 or 10 value raw..i not sure what his asking price is...but I know many sellers think getting 65% of what they think a card is worth would be a 'low ball offer'.

I know there is another thread where I seller thought his jeter rookie had a good chance for a psa 9-10 and it came back a 5 right here on net54..im sure if someone offered him psa 5 value before he submitted the card that would of been an insult to him...when the cards are raw on modern cards.you just never know .....

Which is why they were priced around what a PSA 6 goes for.

maybe you should read the thread..i never saw a price ..he said he was asking for a psa 6 pricing range but no specific price..he said he got lowball offers..so asking what his price was....... I just said I never saw a price. whether they are now currently for sale or not......if there was a price that is listed on the thread you can repost it here....never knew it was rude to ask what the price was on a b/s/t thread especially when not notified cards were sold..

if there was a price listed that's still viewable, again you are free to post it here no need to be rude about it....

Results popped for the Jeters. Figured since the thread wouldn't die I could at least update everyone

They're coming back

2 - 9's
2 - 8.5's
2 - 8's
3 - 7.5's
1 - 7
1 - altered.

So if someone would've bought them and graded them they would probably be looking at a 100 percent profit.

The rest of the order was 3 89 UD Griffeys that all came back 9's
(Gonna pull off a 9.5 if it's the last thing I do)
And an 08 Chrome Stanton that got a 9/9 which was more a test sub than anything else.

Glad you were happy with you grades, but honestly you got miffed at an email and pulled them pretty early. A lot of us would have been interested. I didn't see it before you withdrew it and I'm on this forum way too much.

I had them on blowout first for a few days and got a bunch of bad offers there.
I came here and one guy particular drove me crazy and had me text him close to 60 pictures to give me a worse offer than I had already gotten.

I understand how it looks like a short time but it's been going on awhile.
I even sold a lot of 5 of eBay that a guy returned which was extremely annoying as well

Default Speaking of annoying.........

This entire thread from start to finish comes to mind.......

Mike

PS In response to the post right after this one......trust me, anything would be less annoying. Like a trip to the dentist possibly? I get it......you listed some cool cards, you were shocked and dismayed at the "insulting" offers on arguably very risky "raw" 1993 SP cards. You then sent them all in to be slabbed and "voila" a Holiday Miracle, they get graded favorably. You then thinly veiled I might add, tell us all how we "missed out" on making 100% ROI on this fabulous deal. It reads like a grade school recess area drama with the requisite...ha ha ha look what I got and you don't! I guess in hindsight, it was a bit amusing. Thanks.

Peace, Mike

Maybe if I get one bumped and reholdered you'll start a 4 page thread that'll be less annoying

Now see if you can cross the BGS 9s to PSA 9s and you'll be way ahead. Even if only one of them does.
