Default O/T: Nationals Hotel Advice?

Last topic I post about the Nationals I swear. First time going and I plan to be there all day Friday and Saturday staying Friday night. Will take any Hotel advice anyone wants to give. Was thinking of staying at Hyatt Regency because it looked like the easiest to and from the show, but a place like the Intercontinental gets better reviews online. Driving up there if that makes any difference. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I wouldn't go by the reviews, all the big name hotels around are good. The Hyatt around there is awesome as is the Hilton O'Hare. If you don't mind a short cab ride the Oakbrook Terrace area is really nice.

I chose a Day Inn 5 miles away. I've never had a problem with the chain and I chose to save the money for the show. I got a 20% discount for 3 nights and am paying about $166 out the door for 3 nights.

Can't wait for the show!

I thought about that route but with only staying one night and not knowing the area or how bad traffic will be I figured the closer the better. Thanks for all the advice so far, keep them coming.

I believe there are at least 3 hotels that are on either side of the convention center. I would be a little surprised if you can still get a room at any of them for the dates of the National. I think they are probably sold out but I would check soon, if that is where you want to stay. The Net54 Dinner will be at the Hyatt across the street from the center...

Just booked the Hyatt thru the National website. I would also suggest to people to hurry if they are wanting to book one of the closer hotels. Thanks for all the info and hope to see everyone there.

I'm very surprised that the Hyatt was still available this close to the National.

I'm staying at Comfort Inn O'Hare, 1 mile from show with a free shuttle that runs all day.
Inexpensive and handy, can't beat it.

I am lucky enough to get to attend this yr even though I thought I wouldn't be able to. I trod using several methods to book rooms via the national web site and travel sites but most were sold out. I called several hotels and spoke with managers and was able to find all the hotels had rooms available and even was able to get a few at discounted rates. The national site saves you no money at all compared to regular rates and travel sites from what I found. Hope this helps you.

I am staying at the Hilton. It is right across the street and in past years a lot of folks are hanging out at the bar every night into the late hours talking cards.
