Default T206 SC 460/30 "Solid Leaf"

Sorry 206 haters. Your nightmare. Another thread about what you may regard as a "who cares?" triviality. But, alas, some of us do care.

I would like to know who else has a Sweet Cap back with one of the leaves filled in. By that I mean one of the motif leaves in the corner is solid, as opposed to a leaf outline separated by a void with a mark in the middle. And if the solid leaf happens to be the bottom left leaf in the upper left corner of an SC 460/30, all the better!

I'm not making any grand claim about a design change as opposed to a printing flaw at this point--just gathering information.

Thanks for playing.

Scot

Scot I don't think I have any but I will check My SC 460/30's.

Since you didn't reveal who's on the front I think it would be fun trying
to figure out who it is.

Hi Patrick,

Thanks for playing. I don't want to tell who is on the front because I don't want to bias the survey.

I have also noticed a lot of variation in the inking of Piedmont backs too.

Bryan,

For sure ink bleeding abounds on 206 backs -- but why only on one leaf?

To me it seems you were right on your mention of a printing flaw because the leaf isn't fully filled in and it seems to spill over into the middle as well.

This does bring up something I always wonder about: do you guys think the printers ever "signed" the cards they made? For example, by making small additions, such as to this leaf, that would only be evident to them so they knew which cards they actually made?

Scot,

No filled leaf yet but I did find a couple missing part of the middle on one of
the leaves.

Scot,

Sorry, not a one. Love your Inside T206, though. Thanks for all the work that must have taken.

Hi Scot,

I have 22 T206 cards with a Sweet Caporal back. While none of them exhibit a fully colored leaf, this Jack Quinn presents additional red ink around the flowers.

Hope this helps.

Best regards,

Eric

Scot,

Here's two different versions both the same subject but I think the one is the
same one you posted, it has the same blue/green marks on the back as yours.

Patrick

After looking at them both I'm not sure they're the same card, the corners on yours are a little more rounded especially the bottom right but
both of them do have the same blue/green markings in the same place so maybe it's the scans.
