Default Neil Young

Whether it was with Buffalo Springfield, solo, Crazy Horse, CSNY, always thought provoking, socially conscious and equally adept accoustically or electronic. If anybody deserves one of those Kennedy Center medals, it's Neil.

Keep on Rockin' in the Free World!

CSN is going on tour in 2014 (I saw them in 2013, great show) and rumor has it that Mr. Y might be with them.

Saw Neil Young, Pearl Jam, & Blind Melon at the Gorge in George, Washington. Great show! Tragically, Blind Melon's lead singer Shannon Hoon died less than a year later. PJ played for two hours, finishing their set with Mark Arm (Mudhoney) joining them for a highly energized version of MC5's "Sonic Reducer". But Neil Young was the king of the show, absolutely awesome. Everyone joined in on "Rockin in the Free World" which closed out the show. One of the best shows I saw in the 90's.

I saw Billy Joel on New Years Eve at the Barclays Center Arena in Brooklyn.
It has been a while since he has done a solo concert in NYC.
He was great as he always has been.

Favorite singers: Freddie Mercury, Jeff Buckley, Geoff Tate, Ray Alder, Bono, Ann Wilson, Sinatra, Robert Plant, Paul Rodgers, Ian Astbury, Roger Daltry, James Taylor, Ronnie James Dio, Sting, David Coverdale. Those are off the top of my head at 6:30 am.

Bands/artists: Dream Theater, Queen, U2, Rush, Jeff Buckley, Led Zeppelin, Van Halen, Queensryche, Heart, Fates Warning, Toto, Alice in Chains, Ozzy, Whitesnake, the Who, Metallica (Justice and earlier), Pink Floyd, Porcupine Tree, the Police, Tori Amos, the Beatles, the Cult, Deep Purple, etc. I like a lot of R&B, hip hop, jazz and blues, too. James Brown, Stevie Wonder, Sade, Tribe Called Quest, Diana Krall, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Beastie Boys, Prince, Miles Davis, Al Green, Public Enemy, John Coltrane, Harry Connick Jr, etc. I also love classical. Bach, Beethoven, Paganini, Chopin.

I grew up on 80s music. Tears For Fears, Duran Duran, Howard Jones, etc.

About the only thing I really don't like is country.

A quick partial list of vocalists in the metal category:

Bruce Dickinson~Iron Maiden
Rob Halford~ Judas Priest, Fight, Halford
Ronnie James Dio(RIP)~ Elf, Rainbow, Black Sabbath, Dio
Ozzy Osbourne~ Black Sabbath, Ozzy ( from first Sabbath album through "Bark At The Moon")

I'm tired but off the top of my head these four stand out in the "classic Metal" category. Will add to later....

Sincerely, Clayton
