Default First set that got you into vintage soccer?

Hey I’m Mando and I’m new to the forum. I’ve really began to dig deeper into vintage soccer cards this past year, and I love it. My first vintage purchase was a 1953 Chocolate Torras Alfredo di Stefano. I was in awe once I received it. Love how this set looks, and it will always hold a special place for me. Since that I’ve picked up a Kubala, Basora, and Cesar from the same set.

This leads me to my question: what was the first set that got you into vintage soccer? Is it still one of your favorites? Would love to hear what everyone has to say

Default Soccer

The soccer card market is growing extremely rapidly and pricing is a little like the Wild West as far as I can see. I collect mainly UK tobacco and trade sports cards which includes soccer. One of my favourite Soccer sets was issued by Lambert and Butler in 1931 but there are so many to choose from. Many of the late 50s and early 60s can be classified as vintage which include rookies of Bobby Charlton and George Best and many others. If you are looking for any U.K. cards let me know as I may be able to assist

The set that really got me into vintage soccer is the early 1920s Eduardo Pi from Spain. I love the look of the set and it has 3 of the early Barca greats in it.

Honestly, most of the 1920s Spanish cards drew me in. I love the look of a lot of them. So much more creativity in design than other countries imo

First started with 1978 TOPPS UK set. Then the 1925 Gallaher's Cigarettes color set portraits. And then the 1937 Konig.
