Default Yogi Berra RIP

I see other sections of net54 are discussing Yogi's passing.

As a huge Yankee fan (and admiring and rooting for him in 1973 with the Mets) I was very sorry to hear the news today.

From a championship ring point of view - Yogi had more rings than anyone else.

In addition to the ten World Series rings he won as a player with the Yankees, he also earned four American League championship rings (awarded when a baseball team loses in the World Series) and seven more championship rings after retiring as a baseball player.

As an assistant coach and as the manager, he earned three World Series rings with the Yankees and Mets and four League Championship rings. That brings his championship ring total to a mind boggling 21 rings!

As the infomercial is famous for saying - Wait, there’s more! As a Yankee icon and legend, and being part of the Yankee family, he probably received five winning rings and possibly two additional American League rings from the Yankees starting in 1996. If in fact he did receive these rings, that would bring his championship ring total to 28!

You could have seen Yogi's rings at his museum in Little Falls NJ. Sadly his rings and I believe some awards were stolen.

Here is the display:

Earlier this year, the rings were recreated and re-displayed again.

Anyone have any great Yogi memories they would like to share?
