Default 1962 Green Bay Packers Ring Info

Sorry if this is common knowledge to you ring gurus, but I thought this might be interesting to share...I recently purchased a scouting report booklet put together by Green Bay Packers scout Lew Anderson...the first page in the book was a letter to Jostens..apparently Lew had to pay for his own ring. The second page was a receipt for the ring with a notation from the salesman noting that the Packers ordered 55 rings and that they paid the same price for each one that Lew did.

Wow, what an amazing piece of Packer history!

Teams decisions on championship ring details are almost never released to the public.

I had no idea that Scout, and recruiter, Lew Anderson had to pay for his own ring!

Thanks for sharing!

Here is a picture of the ring and an enhanced photo from the report.

If Lew Anderson’s name sounds familiar to any championship ring enthusiasts, that’s because the Anderson family sold three of Lew’s Packer Championship rings at auction – the 1962 and 1965 World Championship rings, and his Super Bowl II ring.

All three original rings, made by Jostens, were sold by Sotheby’s in their final sports memorabilia auction in 2008. Sotheby’s exited the sports memorabilia auction marketplace after this auction and has yet to return.

That's a classy looking ring if you ask me. It's one you could wear daily without it setting off alarms and buzzers with everyone.
