Hello everyone! I'm fairly new to vintage but not the hobby. I've been working on a 1967 low # set for a little over a year now and have really come to love it. Not sure yet what I'll chase once it's complete but thought I'd join given it's revered as the go-to forum for vintage. Looking forward to getting acquainted with everyone - Thanks!

Been in KC myself the last 7 years and it's a great sports town, easy to be a collector here too with the Chiefs, Royals and Jayhawks with great history and players.
Welcome to the joint, the place is incredible for it's repository of knowledge...especially through searching older threads on nearly any topic or issue you can imagine.

Welcome to the group Derek!! This is a great group of collectors to be a part of. I've been a member for 10 years and it doesn't get boring. There's always many things to read about or my favorites, the T206 posts and the monthly purchases that are shared by other collectors. You will see things there that you never knew even existed. No matter what your next collecting project is, your in the right place.

Welcome Derek.

I'm a life long Kansas Cityian as well. I mostly collect 19th century Kansas City ball players but, interestingly enough, just finished collecting all the KC Athletic players from the 1967 Topps since that was the team of my childhood.

This is one I've been struggling with - my 2012 Ginter project is in dire need of capital and going after the '67 high #'s will obviously detract from that. It doesn't help matters that I'm trying to build a set that's at least VG-EX or better on every card.

I grew up in western Kansas, so I am a KC sports team fan through and through!

Here is the name All KC baseball historians should know and learn about; Jake Beckley. And he has a card in the T206 set.

Another KC member here (Overland Park). There are a few baseball card stores in the area. One in OP, one down in Belton, I believe. And then I think there are one or two near Independence.

As a fun Kansas City project I’m slowly putting together the T206 KC Blues team set (easy project as there are only seven cards...but one HOF, the aforementioned Jake Beckley).

Go Royals!
