Default 1986 Donruss The Rookies

I was flipping through some cards today and noticed this Bonds card. Is the printing/coloring on all 1986 Donruss The Rookies cards this poor? Or is it just me & my card?

This has to be one of the most poorly printed cards of all time. Just curious. If you have other '86 Donruss Rookies, I would be curious to see them....

Default Donruss the rookies

Not sure if the quality was "that" poor, but dang I love the distinct smell of those cards!!!

My father bought me that said in late 1986 at the Waltham MA show... I was psyched to get my hands on Rookies of Canseco, Joyner, & Clark... but lets not forget about Billy Jo Robidoux!

One of my favorite sets as a teen-ager growing up. My two keys to the set in 1986 when they first came out were Bonds & Ruben Sierra. I really liked the power-speed guys.

Donruss did have some ink level/brightness problems from 1984-1989. I think 1989 was the worst as far as there being wide variation in the darkenss/lightness of photos on cards. Even so, it was a far cry from Donruss' and Fleer's terrible photography from 1981-1982. Those years it was like everyone was required only to shoot at night, on overcast days or inside domed stadiums. And then they had to shoot through the lens of their sunglasses. Some seriously murky photos from both companies in those years, not a ray of sunlight to be found.
