Not me but my Uncle Sam way back in 1958 at the World Series.
I put this in the memorabilia section just a week ago.

Pic of my son with Andrew Shaw from the Chicago Blackhawks. He got to play a game of shinny with him and I couldn't wipe the smile from his face!

Default Pudge

Feb 12, 1999 in Breckenridge, Colorado. Just came off the 4 o'clock Run and saw him in the ski lodge. Asked to get a picture and he jumped up and went outside with us. Nice interaction......good guy.

And true story.....right after taking the picture with him, I had to use the restroom. He just happened to walk in right after me and proceeded to take the loudest dump I've heard.

True story.

Darn it, can't find my photo with Bert Campaneris, probably being used as book mark in one of my many unread books.

But I do have this one !!!!!!!!!!!!!! During my Trenton Thunder days:

Me, then Rex Hudler -- late '90's -- pretty impressive.

rexh.jpg

Actually, one of the greatest guy I've ever known is on far right, John Coletta, our accountant. Great sense of humor and personally kept Coors Light in the black for many years. Every Monday after the Super Bowl he would take as a personal day (He knew he wouldn't be doing well that day). Even though I sadly lost contact with him, I still celebrated "Coletta Day" two days ago !!!

I have no bathroom stories on either.

Fun stuff, Scott

Met Campy at Cubs fantasy camp maybe 14 years ago. He signed a ball for me and it is still in my autographed baseball collection

In my job I cross paths with lots of people who in this day and age would call for a "selfie", but it's not my style. When I spent a few hours at the Gold Glove Awards this past fall, I was in a total of zero pictures, but over the course of the last few years, I have met two people who I needed to get my picture with, and they were both very nice about the intrusion.

My thanks to both Mrs. Clemente and Mr. Olbermann.

Until I discovered that the local minor league team brings in players every now and again for signings, my sports photos were few and far between. Aside from some early Mariners photo day shots, I met Bob Feller at a card shop. That was it. Then, I got a bunch of autographs at the 2001 Fan Fest, but was alone so didn't have any photos taken with any of them (Bob Gibson, Enos Slaughter, Orlando Cepeda, Carl Erskine, Rico Carty, Jim Rice, Pedro Guerrero, etc) except one…Garvey!

Me making Dave Stewart look small...

Harlem Globetrotter and Amazing Race star, Flight Time...

Feller in the 80s...

The Garv...

Rollie...

Dan Wilson...

Jeff Nelson...

Gaylord Perry was the first MiLB event and I didn't try to get a photo with him and my boys didn't want to pose with him either. He was kind of a grouch too…

And these are just too good not to share. 1980 Mariners photo night. Sporting a vintage look that night, but love that I have these now all these years later.

walking to our seats and who do i see seating in one of our seats? My childhood hero Steve Garvey. He was giving a personal tour of the stadium to some people and he had seen them to their seats. I wasn't going to ask him to move so just sat next to him and had a 20 min conversation about baseball. During which there were people coming by for autographs and he said i acted as his agent since i was handing him the stuff to sign
Class act all the way. Wow! i still get goose bumps thinking about that day
A thrill of lifetime which one can't put words to it. Thank you Greg for picking those seats and that particular game

His signature is so legible, nobody has to guess. I remember he got hit by a pitch the night before so I asked him about it. This Polaroid is the only photo I was ever in with a ballplayer. The signature came out of my Snoopy autograph book. Summers' 1979 and 1980 stats with the Tigers were Hall of Fame-quality and seemed to come out of nowhere. Interestingly, he was in the 1984 World Series but as a Padre. He struck out in his only AB. Sadly, Champ died of kidney cancer in 2012.

Michael,
I attended almost every home game that year.
It was a blast following those guys throughout their MLB careers.
Thanks for sharing.

A thrill of lifetime which one can't put words to it. Thank you Greg for picking those seats and that particular game
