The last photo is the best centered White Letter I've come across, so wanted to share that, too. All of us Mantle guys know how tough that one is.

Been re-reading The Last Boy over the holiday; great and moving read.

Dear Lord, that is impressive. Amazing project, and incredible progress!

Matt, those are extremely enjoyable to see. Especially the early auto on the '52 Bowman. Exceptional auto collection.

Looks like I missed a few items from mid July to early August.

Nice 51 Yankees M114 Ben.

Love the '52 Tip Top, Jim. That's on my wantlist.

Howard, that's a great Bazooka box! Another item on my wantlist.

Larry, love the Dipsy Doodle bag. Haven't heard of that before. Also love the Post 10 box. That is yet another item on my wantlist.

Just picked this one up. I realize it’s nothing you all haven’t seen before, but I’m pretty pleased with the overall appearance for a 5. I would’ve like centering a little better, but given the corners and registration, I’m pretty darn happy with it.

Just came across this thread. Very cool items, lots of stuff I haven't seen before. Thanks all for sharing!

I'll post a few of mine, starting with these Bowmans. My Uncle started buying Mantles in the 1980s. He bought most raw and then submitted to PSA probably 15 years ago.

When he passed away I bought the collection from my Aunt in 2017, so not technically new pickups, but still worth sharing.

My Uncle kept great records. Just for fun, here are the dates/prices he paid. I think at the time all these were raw.

1952 Mantle bought in 1987 for $250

1953 Mantle bought in 1988 for $700 ($150 cash and then a 1954 Topps Ted Williams he valued at $450 and a 1955 Williams he valued at $100)

1954 Mantle bought in 1986 for $140

1955 Mantle bought in 1986 for $60

Let me know what you think the best deal has been.

What I'd give for prices like these!

A couple more, all picked up in the past few months. A few came from forum members, Thanks!

The 1959 is new for me, the other three were upgrades of cards I already had.

Looks like the PSA 1 1961 Topps Dice Game is coming up for auction through Heritage next month. Will be interesting what it brings at this time in our hobby.

Every once in a while you really have to sit back and admire your collection. Even if it's small in comparison to some others here on the board . 59 is the most recent addition! One step closer to my goal!

Does anyone know if SGC/PSA grades them???
Good question. I've had one for years sitting in my album, no idea what it is worth, if anything. I did recently pick up this one:

1954 All Star Photo Pack. I've got it listed for sale on eBay but will also consider a trade for a 1952 Topps Mays.

Default Mantle

That`s a hell of a nice looking "53" Sir, awesome eye appeal and something I`d really like to have in my collection. Haven`t added anything for a while until recently. Picked up this "52" Berk Ross (sorry for the lousy pics) Mick from a fellow board member, thanx again Dan. Kind of a poor man`s 51 Bowman, which has left the dock for small fries like me, but I enjoy it. Keep them coming guys never enough Mantle.

Default March Mantle's

After acquiring a number of lower grade/raw Mantle's over the past year, I am now SLOWLY looking to improve on some of them. Prices are keeping me in the 2-4 range, but I'm making progress.

Nice additions Jonathan, that Bowman is exceptional and should be a keeper for years to come. Really great examples for any Mantle collection, enjoy those Sir .

Adam, that might be a '54 All Star Photo Pack or it could be from a Yankee Team issued photo pack. It depends on the size. It's discussed in this thread - https://www.net54baseball.com/showthread.php?t=297589

A couple of new pick ups.

A 1960s item for eyesight (outside and inside). IT's 3-1/4 by 6-1/8 inches folded.

The other item is stationary from Holiday Inn. It's 5-1/4 by 8-1/2 inches.

Wow Chris that`s one hell of a card. Berk Ross`s are kind of a niche for me and your Mantle is one of the nicest I`ve ever seen. Pretty sure there`s never been a graded 10 Mantle, actually not many Mantles at all. Thinking yours looks every good as the few 8`s around and hopefully the TPG`s think the same, who knows, maybe even higher ! Image is crisp, centering very good and the corners are as sharp as possible, best of luck Sir and looking forward to seeing the outcome.

Thanks, I’ll post the grade once I get it back. Just hoping psa is not to hard on me like they have been recently.

Love the push-pull Bob. Curious why PSA doesn’t slab them...especially since they are Topps cards.

I paid more than double the price of a 1969 copy I purchased in 4/2019.

My plan to buy raw Mantles, get them graded and resell them may have hit it's limit- PSA now charges a C-note to grade a card over $499.

I may have missed my window...

I got outbid on a raw '58 recently - it sold for $2950.

There's another one not as well centered with a bin of $1800 - pass.

I wish. That price seems really high. Am I missing something with this one?

Rarely offered example of key card Mickey Mantle from the 1959 Dad's Cookies Exhibits series. Distributed only in Canada on a one-per-package basis with Dad's Cookies products, the set is composed of sixty-four players reissued from the regular 1947-1966 Exhibits series with overprint backs (as opposed to blanks backs). The offered example is with "Dad's Cookies" printed on the back. These are extremely scarce! In fact, this is the first example of Mantle that we have offered. This is one of just five Mickey Mantle cards with this back ever graded (all PSA POOR 1) and one of a total of only twenty-seven cards (of any player!) ever encapsulated by PSA and SGC combined. When the Vancouver bakery regionally issued this unusual set, it did not have the condition concerns of modern collectors in mind. The cards were issued stapled to their packaging. This card is bright and crisp, with outstanding picture quality and even wear to the corners. Both the front and back are bright and clean. Graded POOR 1 by PSA due to the as-issued staple holes and minor creasing. This is a very attractive rarity that would be a significant highlight in any Mickey Mantle or Hall of Fame card collection. Reserve $1,000. Estimate (open).

Mantle's cards have become so expensive that the market has relegated me to collecting non-mainstream issues.

Here is a 1961 Nu-card Scoops #422 that I recently purchased. It checks all the boxes for me: (1) Playing days' card; (2) aesthetically pleasing; (3) issue from a legendary year - 1961; and (4) affordable.

I'm happy with this $57.00 purchase.
