Memory Lane
Is it just me or do they get exceptionally high prices on their auction items?

Egads, we have had a few threads on this before. No, that observation is not unique to you. The conclusions drawn from it...vary.

I don't know if this is really high or not because I've never seen a card like this one, but a PSA 10 '51 Bowman Mantle sold for $600 K at memorylane.

should I be worried if I did end up winning a card? wasn't aware of prior threads about their auctions. I don't feel like I overpaid for it...
Thanks, --S

I don't think you should be worried...
There were some steals... eg. '55 Topps Doubleheaders Jackie Robinson sold for roughly $900... that's $600 less than it sold for at Goodwin.

I ended up winning the 1935 Diamond Stars Tony Lazzeri PSA 8.5 for less than SMR but other things I was watching were getting ridiculous prices.

I don't see what the joke would be? Aside from the fact that this is Pre-War board, and I'm bringing up J.Rob's name? But then again the '71 Blyleven was mentioned.
Here's the Goodwin Link: 1955 Topps Doubleheaders Jackie Robinson - Goodwin Here's the Memory Lane Link: 1955 Topps Doubleheaders Jackie Robinson - Memory Lane Unless you can point me to a lower price on the card (that didn't happen more than 2 years ago), I don't see the joke, particularly as the card is part of the master set, and there is only 1 PSA 9 that trumps this card. VCP average on it is $1,050, so I'd say $806 isn't a bad deal at all. Maybe not a "steal", but certainly not an inflated price by any means.

Prices
I didn't think the T210 lot of 251 SGC cards went for a bad price. Even with the buyers premium it breaks down to around $34 a card. Hope the buyer was a board member with plenty of dupes...

I thought the 1959 Fleer Ted Williams set of PSA 8's went EXTREMELY high, as the break down value just isn't there. I am selling them on Ebay for mainly $20 each, if not less. Makes me think I should consign my set of PSA 9's with Memory Lane!

Some of the items that I was watching for Memory Lane went for reasonable prices (in my novice opinion). The 33 Goudey's in PSA 8 went for ~$300 each. Also, and I'm not an expert at all here, but Ruth cut signature in pencil went for ~$2500 including BP here: Link and a "faded" Ruth sig on a photo went for under $2K here: Link. I've been looking to pick up a Ruth auto for a while, but there are too many interesting things in the upcoming Legendary auction, so I decided to wait.
