Default Managers HOF Eligibility

I guess I should know this but I don't and a quick search wasn't helpful. What's the process for managers getting on the HOF ballot and what's the waiting period? Wondering, for example, when Bochy and Leyland might be considered.

From the MLB Hall of fame website

Managers and umpires with 10 or more major league seasons and retired for at least five years. Candidates who are 65 years or older are eligible six months following retirement;

This link has information about the different committees that are now in place instead of the Veterans Committee:

https://baseballhall.org/hall-of-fam...ras-committees

Looks like the Contemporary Baseball Era Non-Player Committee meets every 3 years starting in 2023 with the following eligibility requirement for managers - Managers and umpires with 10 or more major league seasons and retired for at least five years. Candidates who are 65 years or older are eligible six months following retirement;

So Leyland has been eligible for a while it seems.

IMO Bochy is / should be a lock. Three WS and 2,000 wins. Every Mgr. With 2,000 is in except for Dusty Baker. I expect Dusty eventually gets in. Piniella missed by one vote recently. Wouldn't be egregious but I don't believe he is worthy. Same with Leyland. Francona would be next in line for me. Scott

Bochy’s three World Series titles with a not very good team makes him a good choice, I think.

If Showalter wins one he’ll be knocking on the door.

Showalter would be a lock now, if he had fired his hitting coach like Steinbrenner demanded. Instead, Torre gets his slot.
