Thanks Jerry,
I love rarities like those, of course the normies outside of Net54 have no idea about these cards. Hope you are well and congrats on your recent pick ups, I don't know where you find that stuff, if I didn't know better I'd think you were a pre-war "Highwayman"...

Default T202 Lord Gets His Man

Another strong month of acquisitions for the "54". Let my copy of this card go about 8 months back and as a Black Sox fan immediately wanted one back
. On a side note, this was my 1`st venture into the new ebay "authenticity" program, NOT a fan so far.

Thanks Rob, both cards were in the recent Cleansweep and I overpaid but "what're ya gonna do". Bescher back run, that's cool, was just talking to a fellow member about an ecard back run too. Good luck on the run.

Speaking of E card back runs- won this tonight and am hoping it’s the beginning of an E92 run though I’m well aware of the abject difficulty.

Just want to make sure I can crawl without falling on my face first. I’ve only been in the prewar world for 2+years now and never considered a back run but damnit if you guys don’t provide some epic goals.

Petes the back run crack dealer standing on the corner encouraging you to just give it a taste, 1st ones free Bro...

Unfortunately, I recently jumped into the back run rabbit hole too (not Crawford), good luck on your run Adam.

Good luck with the run whether you decide to stick to just the E92 or the full run. As someone who considered doing the full run of Crawford for a quick minute before I came to my senses, I would very highly suggest if there is even a chance you might do the full run do not pass on any of the extremely difficult ones if you see them regardless of the condition or progress you have made on the E92s.

I think there's around 10 with possibly 1-2 more. Here's my other W517 run that's further along. Here, I think I'm still missing purple, orange, and bright green. I know some people might say that bright green and regular green (or bright brown and regular brown) are really the same colors but they may look different due to fading after exposure to sunlight, etc. That is definitely possible, and I'm not discounting that, so I might have some duplicate colors here. However, to me, they looked different enough that I put them on here.

Greg, I cost you some money at the end on that. I also fell asleep and didn’t bid more. Glad it went to a good home.

Rhett, sorry, I went to bed as well, not winning, which was fine, woke up and saw still alive at 1:45, so topped....

I had one of these a few years ago, an SGC 8, and always loved the "one and only" angle, but sold it in my tragic sell-off--for far less than I thought these unique items worth. Still wonder why still "affordable" but surprised and happy to get one back, and under-graded and well-centered no less....

Not exactly a pickup, but got my Shoeless (not to mention Chapman and Lajoie) back from re-holdering.

Also got my first Duke and only 52 Topps in. I can't get over the centering on this one, perfect.

I can't believe how vivid, centered, and clean this looks! The best player of the 19th century according to Cap Anson, Paul Hines, and an 1894 players committee including O'Rourke. The former Home Run King. It's already off to get it's tuxedo label so I'll be posting it again when it gets back.

Been dreaming for years of having these two specific signed 1953 Topps Mantles flanking a centered 1952 Topps Mantle. Finally was able to take the photo today that I was envisioning. The PSA 4 is the new pickup and it thrills me to hold it. Well centered and a really fluid autograph.

Thanks, fellas. Feels good to share the vibe; tried explaining to my visiting mom today why I was so pumped about these— at least she seemed to get it way, way more than the wife LOL.

I just find the undergirding data on signed vintage so compelling; that's what drew me in a few years back...

For example, almost 5000 of the 1953 Topps Mick unsigned graded by PSA. But only 48 signed. And only 19 are signed on a numerically graded card.

Of those 19, generously half could be centered with a pretty auto. That is a very small amount as compared to say the 93 examples in PSA 8 holders. So I really dig the relative rarity— when one can be found with good eye appeal.

Too many great and unique pick ups to give individual shout outs. July has been a great month to the Net54 society.

Picked this up from a fellow board member in part trade. Thanks Jeff, your Lections Ruth will be en route soon.

I believe this is a W502 (blank back), not W-unc. It does not picture Paul Waner, whose image appears on Lloyd Waner's card in the vast array of sets associated with this style. According to some sources, the image on this card is actually Carson Bigbee.

Love that Gertenrich story.

Here are a couple D304s I've been after:

At least PSA got the year right. It is the vastly more difficult 1931 W502.

D304 Cobb sighting! My favorite pre war card. What a beauty. The Honus is pretty, too but that Cobb has always grabbed my eye. Very hard to find these days. Congrats!
