Gonna be 50 in January (still feel like I'm 18 in my head). Not really sure how I feel about the big 5-0. Great wife and 2 daughters soon to be 21 and 18.

55 One son 21 that is a collector (mostly modern). Says he will get into prewar when I am gone. He's just waiting for the win fall.

36, divorcing, with 3 teenage boys (15, 15, 13). They had interest in modern cards for a year or so back in 2011 but lost the bug and are heavy into playing Xbox video games. Maybe when they have my grandchildren I can get them involved in the hobby.

Just turned 42 end of September. Unmarried Without Children.

I saw my first game in the spring of 1980 at Milwaukee County Stadium at eight. I've been hooked ever since.

I'm 45, married with two boys (8 & 3). They are starting to get interested in cards (they want whatever I have out at any given time!) Somewhat interested in baseball but can't sit through a whole game unless we're there live.

Just turned 50 (10/14), wife - 3 step-kids (hers from a previous marriage) and like many of you, none of them have any interest in card collecting/trading.

I'm amazed at how young this group is skewing, although I suppose there are some older guys who still don't do much on the internet. So much for the hobby aging out.

I thought the same thing Hank. It is quite refreshing to see the amount of young whipper snappers we have!! I guess the pessimists (see Peter U.) will find some way of saying something negative about it. Maybe there were hanging chads at the count or something.....

I'm not terribly surprised. All us guys in our 30's were the 8-12 year olds of the late 80's boom and got hooked hard. A lot of us have gotten into vintage because those were the cards we coveted as kids. It's our kids' generation where the the drop-off will happen, but the next 30 years should be sustainable, at least.

Spot on. Our kids' generation will be fine IMO, youth baseball is booming here in Tennessee, there's a wall of card packs at Toys R Us, displays at Walmart. Shoot, there's even a display at the Dollar Tree of packs for a buck apiece.

We have a 13 yr old son and a 9 yr old daughter.

Neither of the kids express much interest in card collecting.

I'm 27 and married with no children yet. However, they will inundated with baseball from the get go whether it be M's games, green/blue clothing I purchase for them, my softball games, playing catch with me in the backyard, and their own T-ball league. In my fantasy world, this will make them fall in love with baseball and take an interest in my collection.

Absolutely 100% true for me. The biggest influence of having a few good local card shops for me was far less about what I bought there, and more about what I gazed at and came to covet. Once I was older and had money to spend, and eBay as a market place, I knew exactly what I wanted after all those years of dreaming.

I'm almost 65. I collected when I was a kid, in the early 60's. When I was a teenager, my mom threw everything out. But it's okay, I got everything back plus lots more.

I collect cards of old Jewish players, and old Hall-of-Famers. I have sets from the 30's, 40's, and 50's.

But the cards I love best are the tobacco cards. I have a hundred-twenty t206's, and a hundred-fifty t205's. And my favorites are the Obaks. I have ninety of them, and I'm always looking for the guys I don't have.

My son isn't too interested. My daughter is, but up to a point. I'm thinking grandchildren are the key.

Happy collecting, however old you are!
