Default January pickups

How well I remember going up to cops when I was a kid to ask for these very cards! Was happy to pick up a set (1981 LAPD Dodgers) in good shape at a good price. Steve Howe, Derrel Thomas, "Pete" Guerrero...what memories!

Such a cool looking set, great find.

Picked up my first 1/1. I live within walking distance of Nats Park, so much fun to watch Rendon play.

And a couple more Jeters:

I'm so tempted to crack and submit this to PSA for crossover. This is an old BGS label. It looks soooo much better than the three BGS 9s I've moved the past few months. All four corners are crisp and the edges show no wear. I love this card and will not move it.

And finally a Vlad SP Top Prospects autograph.

Great Rendon pickup. As a season ticket holder, it has been great to watch him come up and shine.

Normally don't follow the new cards closely. What is meant by 1/1?

It means only one copy of that card exists.

Here's the other Rendons I have from 2012 Bowman products. MLB has deemed his 2013 cards his rookie cards but I don't buy into that.

Base:

Purple:

Chrome:

Chrome Autograph:

Chrome Refractor Autograph /500:

Chrome Blue Refractor Autograph /150:

I'm not a Bowman expert but I know there's a Gold Refractor numbered to 50, a Red numbered to 5, a 'Superfractor' numbered to 1 (beautiful cards, really), and a handful of others I'm sure I'm missing. I stop at Blue though regardless of who I'm buying.

I do not think you should view that card as one in poor condition. I would look at it as the rare "white goatee" variation

There are, Base, Ref /500, Blue /150, Gold /50, Blue Wave /50, Orange /25, Purple /10, Red /5 then the Super.

Know this like the back of my hand because my PC players 1st Bowman is in the 2012 product : ) .
Nice Rendons btw.

Thank you. They are harder to make than I hoped for. I went through most of my materials before I started getting stuff that looked acceptable.

I made the 2 outside cards. The one in the middle was made by someone else.

I decided to finish up a few parallel sets like the Pinnacle Museum Collection from 1995.

The seller offered free shipping, then loaded a white envelope with cardboard and a 45 cent stamp maybe not knowing it would get stuck in the post office's machinery

Quoting Ebay "Free shipping automatically gives the seller a five-star rating" Awesome policy!

The seller also states no returns.

If anyone wants this seller's Ebay name just PM me.

McGwire just can't catch a break

Carota,

Totally remember that poster...summer of '88....I kept all the clippings from those first 21 games after the ASG.

What's your most unique Burks item?

That's a tough call. Maybe the notepad below?

Maybe the GU bat below from 2004 (probably more rare than unique as Burks played in only 11 games for the Sox that season.)

I am trying to collect HOF/Star Rookies and the same card autographed as a compliment. Hedging my bet that Chipper makes the HOF, trying to pick his cards up a reasonable prices now.

Some really great pickups here. On a side note, I always found it interesting that Wil Myer's auto has been just as horrible on paid signings (cards) as it has been when you get him in person. Figured he would actually make more of an effort when getting paid haha.

I read somewhere that he recently changed and cleaned up his signature because a handful if fans called him out on twitter. Don't know if that's true or not.
