SOLD Johnny Vander Meer First MLB Start Program & Ticket Stub
Crosley Field May 19, 1937 The Cincinnati Reds first night game of the season in front of 20,000 a young Johnny Vander Meer would make his first start of his big league career.
He would pitch a complete 9 inning game against the Boston Bees, unfortunately get the loss, but struck out 11! Not a bad debut. Offered here is a scorecard and ticket stub (undated) from that game. Program w/scorecard full in tact. Several pages of baseball information and neat vintage ads. (pictures of Vandy and Crosley Field night game not included, just taken from internet) Last edited by Shoeless Moe; 11-01-2018 at 05:12 PM. |
