Picked up this 52 Topps Campy locally...neat iconic card! It does have a pinhole, but I am going to send in to SGC and then decide what to do with it. Just couldn't pass it up!

That's a great picture of the Mick, in full extension after his swing. And it's amazing his record shot still stands after 60+ years.

Great card, John.
I think something like your scenario is the only way I am ever going to obtain one too?
If you decide to sell it, please let me know.

I'm slowly picking away at a graded run of the Topps LL cards from 1962-1984.

Picked up another SGC graded 1953 Dormand card...Scooter! I also mailed out 9 Dormands to SGC to be graded today...up to 20. Slowly but surely making some damage on this set...it's been quite challenging.

Two nice pick ups already this year John....you are off to a strong start!

Some of my random pickups so far this year include my last card for my 70 PSA set, a supposedly tough 62 Jello embedded in a random junk lot and finally my second 1960 Topps back color hat trick with all three found embedded in a yet another lot. This bright white back copy has some previous history....https://www.kevinsavagecards.com/196...lot287732.aspx. Hard to believe it ended up in a random lot.

I finally found a nice for me 52 Topps Connie Marrero at a reasonable cost.

Just one more card and the 52 Senators set is complete. Nope, none of the variations, cannot go that route for this series.

Very excited to add this whole panel to my Eckersley collection. Prices on these have been insane on eBay, so I was thrilled to find this for a fantastic price.

Stuff I shouldn’t have bought at the LCS this morning. The ‘55 Kaline and the ‘68 Superstars cards are low grade, but within the budget and to me they still look fantastic.

Jim Busby was the last card needed to complete the 52 Senators Team Set

Bump is the Rangers variation for the 79 set.

Intrigued by this. Was it a show, shop, facebook market, Craigslist, other? We are not too far from each other.

That looks like a copy I would easily add to my collection, depending on the price was to get it of course.

Curt...a local card shop, owner is a friend of mine who saves any vintage buys for me before putting them for sale. He is slowly getting a trickle of 52's in from an older gentleman who opened them in packs as a kid on the east coast, so new to the hobby cards from the original owner. I made a deal with a net54 member and sold it to him for exactly what I paid and now it's at SGC to be graded. It's no longer my card and probably one of those deals where I'll probably regret that later...haha...but super happy to help a fellow collector on an iconic card. Only one I've ever seen or held. I stopped by the shop today and a couple more high numbers came in, I just listed them on the B/S/T for pretty much what I paid. I've given up on 52's considering the Mantle is probably out of my reach, so trying to help others...

Very excited to add this one to my collection. Most I've ever spent on a single card, but it's a goodie!

Continuing my Senators team sets quest, I have added the following today. And the bottom two 75 cards finish out that set for me.

Not really new pick ups, but feels new when you get them graded...

Just got my results and scans from SGC...I subbed 10 1953-55 Dormand's, but only getting 9 back. One had a real autograph on it, and SGC won't grade it...great customer service though, I was immediately refunded. Super fast too...

Anyhow, I had popped a PSA 5 Enos Slaughter and was curious what SGC would grade it...so far every PSA i've popped SGC has been WAY harder. Not this time...got a 5.5. In fact, all my subs exceeded expectations, for once!

Huge day for me. I made the biggest trade of my life and walked away with an upgraded 52 Topps Mantle. The centering isn't perfect, but the surface is. Unbelievable color, clarity, and registration. I'm over the moon!

Thanks guys and yes John, it was one heck of a trade! More than I wanted to part with, but getting a Mantle 100% in trade with no cash is almost unheard of nowadays.

That's no joke. I've been asked if I would trade what I have for a 52 Mantle and the answer is YES. I can build that back! Totally unheard of and simply AWESOME. What a beauty...super jealous!!!

An impulse buy, as I ran across it early and knew the next person to see it would gobble it up. A '59 Killer with the exact same grade at almost the same price got snapped up recently, and its centering was real hard on the eyes, so when I saw this one (with the cool trifecta - a 1950's card, a Hall of Famer and a high number) I jumped at it. If this kind of centering is wrong, I don't wanna be right!

Not true Phil,

The Say Hey Kid is looking smooth and it finishes a set. Major score if you asked me.

Congrats

Probably the earliest Mays I’ll ever grab. Super low grade but crease-free. Glad to get it, starting to appreciate the artwork on these early ‘50s Bowmans more and more.

I’m not exactly sure when I became this person. I freaking love this card though. The PSA 5 I picked up today presents like 7+ on the front. Dig those corners. The grade is due to some minor staining on the back, which does not bother me in the least. Buy the card…

Thanks. My favorite two '63's are Koufax and Clemente. I only have one Clemente right now, need to pickup the pace...

In keeping with a "buy the card" theme, this arrived in today's mail. Yes, it's only a 3 due to a surface wrinkle. However, I'm building a '56 Topps set that is in VG-EX or so and this fits right in.

Awesome card, Eric. Nice way to close out January.
