Those sre really cool but I don't know the "story" on them. Did Spading sell them to whoever might want to hand them out? What year(s) were they produced? How many would you say are in circulation? Are some poses/positions rarer than others?

yes, they were ordered through catalogs for anyone who wanted them.

I haven't an idea how many are of each but I know that they are tough to find.

I have always heard that the catcher is the toughest but I have also heard that the batter is too.

They are quite big and heavy btw.

1920's to 30's I believe, maybe Mark or someone can chime in here who is more certain than I

Yes.... 1920s to early 30s. All are rare, especially in nice unrestored condition.

The Batter Trophy is thought to be the rarest, with the Catcher not far behind. The Catcher is considered by many to be the most attractive. So it's rarity + aesthetic appeal usually account for it to realize the highest price of the five.

These are now turning up on a far less frequent basis, so (based on laws of supply and demand) prices are on the rise. These are huge trophies, and most people are taken aback the first time they see one in person.
