Default 1960-61 Lakers

Does anyone know what their preseason schedule was or have a copy of it? Looking for the Jerry West preseason debut date. Thanks.

I can't help but here's something interesting: West made his official debut against the Cincinnati Royals. The Royals also had a rookie on their team making his own debut -- a guy named Oscar.

Not an official schedule but this page in an Elgin Baylor book provides a few details about the 1960 preseason and a couple exhibition games against the Boston Celtics. https://books.google.com/books?id=w_...lakers&f=false

Default a brief newspaper search

They likely started the last day or so of September, 1960. Here is a press clip from October 2, giving the results of the preceding day and stating that the series was tied 1-1. BTW, if you're looking to find a ticket stub from his debut, you may want to consider that there were four or five earlier inter-squad games that may have had tickets for the brand-new Los Angeles team. As you probably know, West signed on 9/20, so you have a pretty small window to search.

Thanks for this. My friend found some stubs from the 10/7/60 game. I had seen programs from 10/9 and 10/13 but nothing else.
