Default FS: 1945-46 Caramelo Deportivo Set In Album Dihigo Dandridge Brown FINAL REDUCTION

For sale is a complete (minus #73 Reyes) set of the 1945-46 Caramelo Deportivo issue. The cards remain in their original album. Please see scans below for the images of the most important cards. The Martin Dihigo is most impressive, looking to be EX+ without taking into account possible back damage from removal. The Dandridge and Brown cards are both in very nice shape as well. You also have Minoso, Maglie, Tiant Sr...

Very nice condition. Your choice to either keep in album or soak cards off.

Dihigo in SGC 30 condition regularly sells for close to or above $500. Brown sells for $300-400 in the same condition. Dandridge around $300. Minoso goes for $100+.

Asking $800 delivered.

Tom C

Default Expertise needed

It really is a beautiful piece, but it presents me with a couple of problems:

I'm only interested in two cards [Dihigo and Brown], but I want them as cards. How would I best remove them?
Furthermore, could I remove them without severely damaging/ruining the album? The album is, afterall, what makes this such a beautiful piece, and I wouldn't ruin it just to get the two cards.

I wonder if the cards could be steamed off with an iron [with a buffer of paper or a handkerchief in between], as was done with stamps in the old days.

If anyone with expertise in this matter would chip in, I [and perhaps many other collectors who share an interest in preserving art] would appreciate it.

Thanks.

Doug

Default Still available?

Hi Tom.

I'm bumping this thread as I see autocentral is looking for Cuban cards,
and I thought yours was a great deal.

Is it still available?

Good luck.

Doug
