Interesting item for Cracker Jack collectors
Hi everyone. I don't often post much here but I thought you guys might enjoy seeing this item that I found yesterday. It’s an embossed side panel to a shipping carton used to ship Cracker Jacks. I have dated it to between 1912 and 1922 based upon the writing content, so right in the timeframe for the 1914-15 CJ issues. The piece measures about 16x20.
The person I got it from said that it was at the bottom of an old box so my guess is that someone 100 years ago tore the panel off to use it as packing material. I cannot imagine that many 100 year old shipping cartons of Cracker Jack still exist. Cracker Jack memorabilia is actually quite difficult to find from the card insertion era (1914-15) I snag it when I see it.

Left guy - Soon as they get busy I'm swiping some of that! guy at table - Don't mess up my neat stacks. Buy yours from the womans sloppy pile. Or else. Woman - How the heck do I let myself get talked into this stuff. Guy on right - If they don't pay for the space soon they're outta here.
