Finally...nothing to do with the Bosox
Posted By: Mike Pugeda
It didn't take me quite 86 years, but after approx. 7 years I am happy to say I have finally completed the Domino Disc set (PX7). I am also about 40-45% through completing the second pose (variations) to completing a "master set". These are similar to P2's but I just think the colors are so much more appealing than the sepia color of the pins. I also think they are considerably more difficult to find, especially in top shape. |

Congrats Mike. Im almost finished with the t206 set that i started collecting 13 years ago.I didnt buy many the first 8 years.Just some here and there at card shows but for the last 5 years ive been full into it trying to get every player from Magie on down in price, and every back from Drum on down and im just 16 away from finishing.Mostly need southern leaguers with a few hall of famers in there to make it harder[expense-wise] |

in great condition. I bought my original Kelly for about $2000--I'd say it was ex--but that was 7-8years ago. I think I'd ask Terry Knouse (from whom I bought it) to keep a lookout for me for a lower grade Kelly, and give him a top price. He certainly handles more 19th century stuff than anyone. Another thing about T. Knouse--he'll let you buy stuff on time, if it's too expensive to pay for all at once--which is certainly the case with me most of the time! |

Does Terry have a website? Or a way I can contact him? I'm looking for a 19th century card and he sounds like a guy who could help me find it and may a payment plan to afford it. Thanks. |

Mike- congratulations on your herculean task. I too have lately tried to collect and complete both sets and although I am getting close on the P2 Sweet Cap pins, the PX7 Domino Discs has proven to be a real challenge and I have a long way to go. |

It is always satisfying when a set finally finishes. Sometimes a bit sad too. |

I recently completed the N526 set. Sowders was the last one I needed. It took a couple of years of waiting for the Sowders, and six years all told to put together the set. Why did I even want to collect this set? Well, they are not too expensive, and there are only 15 of them, so it is possible. |

I am currently down to 2 T202s, which I started 4 years ago. Down to 22 commons minus the big 5 on the T206 set, I had about 80 from the 1980's but got the rest in the last 4 years. I have all the backs from UZIT down. Hopefully I will have one of the 2 sets down by the end of the year. |
