Default 2023 Shaw Classic contestants anounced

Brian announced the contestants.

Trey Mitchell
Mitchell Hooper
Oleksii Novikov
Maxime Boudreault
Kevin Faires
Aivars Smaukstelis YES, GO Aivars
Evan Singleton
Bobby Thompson
Luke and Tom Stoltman
Adam Bishop
Graham Hicks
Pavlo Nakonechnyy
Thomas Evans
1 Unknown Please be Big Z
Brian Shaw

Happy they announced the contestants but was extremely sad Big Z is not on the list. If he is not the unknown I will probably sell my front row floor seat and buy a WAY cheaper seat. I only bought the extremely overpriced seat for the meet and greet with the contestants that come with it. Nothing against any of those listed but I am not paying a few hundred extra for a meet and greet with any of them.

Anybody else going or enjoy watching strongman?

Trey Mitchell should be considered the favorite since he is a 2 time winner but it looks like a really solid field of contestants

and I think watch Aivars Šmaukstelis he will be a really tough competitor to win

I hope Aivars does great. He is by far my favorite of those competing. I ended up selling my front row floor seat with the athlete meet and greet. I only paid the big money to meet Big Z and he won't be there. I got lucky and bought the exact same seat I had last year and used the extra money to rent a 2 bedroom apartment for a week while there.

If anybody else is going and want to meet up at the expo or show let me know.

Everytime I see most of these guys, especially the Stoltman bros, all I can think of is Walken in Wedding Crashers.

Have not seen the events, but if there is not a farmers or frame carry, Trey will be hard to beat, the carry events are his kryptonite. If a carry, is in the mix, I put my money on Novikov for the overall.

My new tickets arrived today.

So happy to be able to get real tickets instead of the print at home or e-tickets. This seat is great because it sets at a great angle to watch the events. It is also a aisle seat with about a foot between it and the rest of the row of seats so there is plenty of elbow room. I hate being squished in stadium seats.

I will. I posted a pic of Oleksii Novikov pulling the new world record on the Hummer Tire deadlift and a few others last year.

It is still 5 months away but I am already super excited for it. They are also going to have a cool expo this year but the details have not been released yet.

At this years Shaw Classic. Did the expo and the athlete Q&A today. The event is Saturday and Sunday with 8 events total. Got this cool Brian Shaw Bobblehead in my gift bag today.
