Default Griffey Jr.

Pre-pandemic, did he do a lot of public signings? I'd like someday to have a special signed piece from him. I also assume it wouldn't come cheaply.

I see a lot of signed cards and memorabilia out there so I suspect it wouldn't be super rare or impossible to get.

That's almost as long as the list of items promoters would tell you Dimaggio would not sign. lol

Wonder why it would cost more to get your original artwork signed.

I'm guessing the assumption is you just made a piece of art way more valuable?

My original question came from seeing this last night. I know the interest in case breaks of any kind around here is pretty negligible, but this caught my eye. Maybe there will be more of this as shows are slow to get back going.

Assuming it was any good in the first place. Just seems weird that would be the most expensive tier and not game used items or the like that have definite value.

Would be interested in seeing what that list was like as I wasn't around for Dimaggio signings. I'd imagine any photo with Marylin Monroe was off limits.

On the subject of Griffey, I've seen signed baseballs go for less than what he's charging!

I got EXTREMELY lucky with both my Griffey autos - a guy on blowout was selling a pair of baseballs - Ken Griffey Jr and Sr for $48 for the pair. No COA but his story was legit and the auto looked good - I was able to get the Jr. ball authenticated by JSA no problem.

I got a 1989 Upper Deck signed - also from blowout - it was in a Leaf holder - floating around a bit. It was from a "Leaf Memorabilla Vault Case". Anyways I bought it for either $175 or $200 - forget the exact price but definitely no more than $200 - and I got that slabbed by Beckett.

I would like a Topps Traded signed as I try to get as many HOFers on their Topps RC as I can - but to send in is expensive.
