Pretty soon we'll be seeing the newly discovered "Market King" back T206 with Cobb on the front.

Everything that guy is selling is practically "fake". I think maybe one trade card and one colorized postcard are real and that's it.

Here's more. They are not repro's he says. Is this another case of newly manufactured old cards? Like the Brooklyn Pub Ruth.

From one of the auctions for the soldier cards:

"Market King cards are Not Reproductions! These are real photo tobacco cards and are clearly marked on the back "Market King" and these are all authentic. Information on these cards is limited and we do not speculate on them or give our sources! All tobacco cards are sold as is, as scanned. If you are speculating on these cards, please do not bid!".

So, they are:

1) not reproductions
2) real photo tobacco cards
3) authentic

Yet:

1) information is limited
2) they do not speculate on them
3) they do not give out their sources

and

1) the cards are sold as is
2) if a buyer is speculating on them, then do not bid.

So, let's think about this. The cards are real, authentic and not reproductions yet information is limited, they do not give out their sources and the cards are sold as is.

Also, what is this about speculating?? Does that have anything to do with getting their cards graded? If so, then they are warning buyers who get their cards graded to stay away. Hum...

David

I was checking out the other items being sold by the seller Dan just pointed out (about 2 posts above), and they list items like a used set of Ping irons "with matching serial numbers", several used mountain bikes (I get the nagging feeling that the people who had used those mountain bikes probably wish they still could --- if they knew where they were), etc. It just seems sketchy.
