Default Simply amazing - the undoctored Cobb is in !!

just something to lighten up the forum after seeing so many back and forth posts about the "infamous" E95
awhile back we had a post of "best card/ worst condition"
At that time I promised the Judge a scan which I am still having trouble producing. Maybe with Bill's help it will majically appeaar.
This is my Best card/ worst condition.
It is "undoctored"
Not for sale, never been sold, bought back, sold, and bought back again. It is so ugly only a mother could love it.
The only thing a black light would do to this card is embarass it.
It is chipped, mis cut, creased, rounded, crinckled, off center, dull, not to mention stained. You name it, this T205 has it.
and I love it.!!
Try to beat it.
rick

Burnt nearly to a crisp would certainly be in worse shape, but it would never have near the character of this card. This Cobb has been loved into its current condition.

...left in the pocket of a pair of jeans on "high wash" and then "permanent pressed," then yes, it was "loved" into its current state.

The stained glass comment leads me back to an ebay posting a number of years ago. The seller was listing some item, but had some fantastic pictures of stained glass windows with a baseball motif, that he said were taken from Johnny Kling's hotel in Kansas City. Despite my best efforts, he said they were not for sale (why did he post them, I asked?). I saved the pictures, then took them to a local stained glass artisan, who replicated (with his artistic differences) a stained glass window which now graces one of our windows. I will post a picture tomorrow of the new window, but wanted to ask whether anyone had saved the original photos of Kling's window, as I lost my jpgs of them when a hard drive crashed.

Thanks,

Max

MAX - I too would like to see the stained glass that was modeled after Johnny Klings version.

gets cards for Jewish-baseball-player-card collectors that he was, anyway. He's all over the T202 set--but not nearly so impressively. Here is is, in very exalted company:

JULIE - Not sure of his religion.
But he was a good catcher on those early pennant winning teams, and he even won a Billiards title and took a year off of Baseball to tour. And the Cubs didn't win the Pennant while he was gone.
