Default My favorite football card set ... 1957 Topps

I just picked up a Dick "Night Train" Lane rookie card with the Chicago Cardinals. I think this may be my favorite football card.

What are your thoughts (favorite cards) ion this set?

The Johnny Unitas rookie from this set was my second 'big ticket' card purchase (after the '57 Brooks Robinson). I later sold it when I was trying to finance my grad school costs and as soon as it was gone I regretted it. I vowed that I pick up another one and I did a few years later.

It's really a fun set, looks nice in a binder. I considered chasing it a while back and bought a small lot to get started. But I've never pursued it. Maybe once I get these other projects done I'll look at it again. I have the Colts and about 25 others.

I never think of Night Train Lane with the Cards, or Rams for that matter. He was a Lion when I first began following the NFL.
