Default 1959 Syracuse University National Championship License Plate

Posted By: Dave Moriarty

I found this lisence plate in a box of stuff I had. It is painted on a metal plate and I have no idea what it might be worth or how many may have survived. Has anyone ever seen anything like this before?

Very cool. My Dad was best friends with the quarterback for that team (Chuck Zimmerman). They went to high school at CBA in Syracuse, which at the time, had one of the best HS football team in the country for many years.

GO ORANGE!

I believe 1959 was Ernie Davis' first varsity year. That plate may be worth something with his new movie coming out.

Mark,

Christian Brothers Academy was an athletic powerhouse for many years in central NY State. It was McQuaid in Rochester and CBA in Syracuse.
