Default ALL SOLD: BF-UNC Baseball Felt Novelties (Matty)

Not much is known about these. I do know that I like them enough to have bought a group of five only to acquire a Lajoie. The rest are offered for sale here. A little background:

The Mathewson and Lajoie sold together in a 2007 Lew Lipset auction for $2,077.

Then those two plus three others were in Legendary's May auction. The five sold for $1,793.

As mentioned, I bought the group just for the Lajoie. While trying to assign prices for the other four, I figured the Matty is worth a little more than Lajoie and came up with a value of $1,350 to $1,400 for the pair. That left about $400, and I thought Herzog is a bit more desirable than Lord and Ainsmith.

They are mentioned and pictured in the Stirling Sports Card Catalog from the late 1970s, but other than that, I don't know much about them. They measure about 1.5 by 4 inches.

Scans of all four are below.

Christy Mathewson, New York Giants -- SOLD

Bris Lord, Philadelphia A's -- SOLD

Buck Herzog, New York Giants -- SOLD

Eddie Ainsmith, Washington Senators -- SOLD

Prices include shipping and are firm. Like everything I list, they're priced fairly. I don't post things on the B/S/T with an unrealistic price and the intent to lower the price 3 to 5 percent each ensuing day with a bump.

PayPal is fine, as is a check or money order.

Thanks, Rob
