Default Are these legit autographs?

These are being sold by Touched by the stars, from Florida I think. Both have Global stickers on them, but I figure you can monkey with those and put them on fakes. Any thoughts on them as authentic and thoughts on Touched by the stars?Mays and MantleTed and Joe 2Ted and Joe 1

Touched by the Stars uses Chris Morales as an authenticator. I think that says it all.

Yeah they use PSA and JSA, and for the items that don't pass those two, they use Morales LOL

I had an M101-2 Authenticated. GAI required I purchase a LOA (showing a photo of my item) as well as the COA seen with these. Also, the sticker was placed on the back of the M101. Where's the LOA? IMO, Somethin's rotten in the state of Denmark.

They are garbage. Thousands of these items have hit Ebay, CC and SCD. They are not even close to be authentic.

Even if the autographs were real (and I'm not commenting on that), why would you want an item with an advertising sticker on the front of it (or the back)? Oh, so it is an "authentication sticker?" 50 years from now, will anyone finding such an item have any idea what this sticker is? Will the "authenticator" still be around? Will their database still be posted on the internet?

Some people are suckered in by stickers and fancy holograms. It helps legitimize an operation and many people trust/ed Global. They were in fact one of ebay's preferred authenticators. You have to check this guys description out in regards to Global and how he feels about Global at this moment:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=120319519874&ssPageNam e=MERC_VI_RCRX_Pr4_PcY_BIN_Stores_IT&refitem=35011 0326557&itemcount=4&refwidgetloc=active_view_item& usedrule1=CrossSell_LogicX&refwidgettype=cross_pro mot_widget&_trksid=p284.m184&_trkparms=algo%3DCRX% 26its%3DS%252BI%252BSS%26itu%3DISS%252BUCI%252BSI% 26otn%3D4

Or this wonderful signature of Christy Mathewson authenticated by STAT (in the latest Coach's Corner Auction) that has a tiny STAT hologram RIGHT by the signature. They are also selling an Alexander and Wagner and others, same way.

Nice new front page feature Coach's! I'm sure that will help get those prices up! happy.gif

Looks like I can cross Touched by the Stars of the list, If these fakes are so numerous and so many can see they are, Why can't we or whoever put an end to this B.S. Another question, Can Spence or PSA letters be faked as well or altered? I feel there really is know safe way to buy autos regardless of authentication. thats too bad.

I love that first sentence in the description of the Mathewson,

"this cut is vintage and on brown paper" LOL, as opposed to their modern Mathewsons on white paper.

As far as knowing whats real and who to trust, follow the card guys mantra on graded cards, "buy the card, not the number" the best advice is...
