Default Heritage Photo Auction

Some really nice stuff, but the prices seemed a little soft. Anyone else think so? Obviously a crazy week with the market. Maybe good timing to get a few buys.

Agreed, timing plus a loaded auction. Grab anything?

The Gehrig commerce high school photo. Prob overpaid for a Type 3, but love it and never saw it before.

Nice pickup, significant type 3's are extremely undervalued in my opinion

It looks to me like there were some really undervalued photos and deals in this auction. I was not around and able to participate... or I would have tried to buy several of them.
Darn!

I agree with Jeff, that "Type 3s" (I don't like this type system, and would rather use descriptive English, so I will say... "period prints not from the original negative") seem to be extremely underappreciated, especially if period prints from the original negative of that image are scarce, or non-existent. However... these second generation period prints are now starting to gain more interest from collectors... on the right photos.

Being vintage/from the time period is an important quality to value
