Default 1962 Mantle/Maris magazine cards

A friend of mine just acquired a ton of early 1960's cards. She let me browse through them the other day.

Included was the Life magazine cards of Mantle & Maris...they had been separated from each other and looked to be around Vg condition.

Any info on the value of these 2 cards would be appreciated and I'll pass it along to her.

You can usually pick up the Mantle for $20-$30. The Maris of course for less.

They are more common that some collectors think. Far more common than the box cut cards of the same 2 players.
Ive owned about 12-15 of the complete magazines over the years with the cards still inside, bought 1/2 on eBay and 1/2 in antique stores back in the 1980-90s. They used to sell for far more still in the magazine, used to go well over $100, but now youd be lucky to get $50-$75.

Here is one I have for an example... (the cards slide out easily to be scanned)
