Wow- you folks weren't kidding! My PSA 1 Mathewson E92 just sold on Ebay for $1,026! I won it on Ebay about 4 years ago for I think $160 or thereabouts.

Congrats! That's a nice return. I hope everyone agrees that you waited long enough to make a profit. E cards are certainly on fire.

I was an underbidder.

I was hoping to snag it....

but my search for a decent looking low-grade horizontal matty continues.

it is kind of a magic moment when you think it's nearly hit the top and then those last 10-20 second snipes pull in and you see it take a big leap!

out of curiousity what was it going into the last minute? my nine year old son has got me into a game of sorts every night. i have to get my laptop out at the kitchen table every evening, pull a pocket full of change out, and we look at auctions ending within the last couple minutes. i have to tell him what i "think" the final price will go for, and he tell's me if he thinks it will be for more or less. when he's right, i give him a quarter. when he's wrong, he doesn't give me one. i can see why he loves this stupid game he came up with. the things we do for kids.

Dave- that is a funny story. It is refreshing to hear a nice story on this board instead of guys ripping on each other. I gave my 3 year old daughter a slabed card of Cory Patterson and tried to teach her about the hobby. I showed her how I collect and catalog each card. She came back 20 minutes later with pink stickers and crayola all over it. Kids are great! Thanks for sharing.
