#154 Omar "Turk" Lown Later in his career, Lown became a fairly good relief pitcher. However, if you look at his statistics, (look at Bob's submission), his walks to strikeouts ratio is horrible. Look at the similar statistics of other pitchers before 1960, you will find that they gave up quite a bit of walks to innings pitched and some ended their careers with having given up more walks to strikeouts.

Was on both the 47 Yankee and 48 Indians championship teams. In game 7 of the 47 Series with the Yanks having a slim lead in the 6th inning and Rizzuto on base Bucky Harris sent Clark up to pinch hit for Yogi Berra. He singled in Rizzuto

Max does look a little like a 195 pound guppy staring back at you from the tank
In 1953 he struck out 8 consecutive batters a record that stood until Tom Seaver nailed 10 in 1970

How objectionable would it be to finish the set as Bowman originally intended - before Joe D.'s contract made it too pricey to Kodachrome the final two series? Would it be worse than Ted Turner's self-indulgent colorization of classic B & W films back in the '80's?
