One thing we routinely disfavour is bidding against ourselves. Whilst there are some extra ordinary high-grade vintage cards that we are interested in, the preponderance of hidden reserves at Heritage causes us pause in aggressive bid strategies which a true auction may not support. |

Hidden reserves is better than fake bidders I guess. Or maybe it's the same. Well, I'm pretty certain at least one of them is illegal. |

For a full disclosure Heritage advertises here (obviously) and many of their employees I consider friends. |

Maybe Pete C. can clear all this up. Working at Mastro and Heritage -- I'm sure he can provide some insight. |

Jeff- No need (necessarily) for Heritage to clear up the reserve issue. I just looked and don't see it but I am sure it is what I said. At the end there will be no hidden reserves. |

Leon, I made this same, albeit altered, response in another thread. |

None of the Star Player Candy cards in the current Heritage auction have reserves - I can assure you of that. |

they are certain to be higher in the final hours. I made a ton of placeholder bids and I will decide what to actually go after when the final day arrives. FWIW, the card I wanted most is deep into record-breaking territory already, far above my expectations, and the #2 on my hit list is close. But I would like to thank the Bruces for driving traffic to Heritage's auction by starting this thread. Nice bidding strategy there, boys. |

We are very excited about the Heritage Auction currently running. Whilst the economy seems to be down, we feel that it is a great time to buy. So we are heading down to Heritage on Tuesday to meet up with Chris Ivy for a preview. We can't wait. We love us some Heritage auctions and we love us some Obama. |
