Lou Brock 1962 Topps Rookie
Is it just me or does the front of this card look terrible. The colors are faded and there's some sort of red printing marks along the left edge making the card look much older then it is. There's no way it should grade out a 7 or is this typical for Brock's rookie card?
By the way the back look perfectly normal. I've got a few other wood border 62 Topps card and they don't look anything like it... |

Brock
I think it is just that Cub uniform that makes him look old and washed out. In his later cards he looks younger and more colorful --and happier

If you stick to corners, edges, centering and surface (assuming the dots do not affect the card's surface) the grade looks about right. That is the criteria that the grading companies use.

I enjoy comments like this My favorite Cardinal HOFer. Looked great in his red blazer for opening day!

Maybe he's just been out in the sun too long after the grade was given? |
