I presume the article came out in '58. Barker talks about a '58 Kahn's set in the present tense ... it's curious there was no mention of Wilson Franks or Esskay Meats ... everytime I've ever seen a Hunter's card, it's absolutely hammered. Does anybody have a scan of a nice one? Amazingly, it's probably easier to collect hot dog cards today. All a collector needs is a few auction catalogs and an unlimited bank account ...

I think 1959 is correct. He also writes of needing a 59 Turley to finish his coin set.

He does mention that Wilson came out with a 20-card all-star set in 1954.
