Default E99 Bishop Color Question.....

Posted By: James Feagin

After receiving assurance that this was included, I just BIN this lot on ebay. I'm not sure, but I think it's a decent deal. I'm a complete newbie to the E99 set. Wanted to assess how rare this set is. Also understand there are tiers of color rarity. Some websites have been helpful, but the experts here would be great. Did I get a decent deal?

James

edited because the scan was waaaaayyyyy too big (mod dude)

E99's are tough. Rare might be a stretch. Just out of curiosity how much did you BIN it for?

It was a good deal....if the back is decent on the e99 then it was fine...not a steal but certainly decent....as for colors I haven't studied them but in my experience they are all fairly equal with yellow being seen less often.....just my opinion from seeing quite a few.....

I'd say you made out well. You could always sell the T205s for about $50-55 and have a very tough Bishop for around $75.

Steal of a deal -- IMO -- heck, I'd give ya' 129 for the e99 itself
Probably closer to a $200 card.
Color wise -- Green, Yellow, Blue, Purple -- no idea of rarity order (if there even is one), but your purple is pretty cool.
(I base all of this on casual observations, and owning a single, yellow, e100 !!)

E99s come in four different colors, green, blue, yellow, and purple. I agree with Leon when he said the yellows are probably the toughest to get out of all of them. I've seen very few yellow backgrounds compared to the other colors. Purple seems to come up the most often I think though.

Mark has almost complete sets of both e99 and e100 with all color variations. Has over 250 in both sets. P.S. I'll give you $130.00 for the e99

I too saw the auction but looking at it now, I don't think the E99 is included. The E99 was in the picture but the title mentions only the 4 T205s and so does the description, that is why I didn't bin it earlier this morning.

Nevermind, I just read your post and it looks like the person just forgot the include the E99 in the description. Nice buy and I too will glady give you $130 for it

For E-99, Black appears to be the toughest background color, followed by pink. Easiest color would be Blue. Others in between. All E-99 should be considered tough

Brian,

Are you SURE it's that one? Thank goodness the seller indicated which side was which - I would have been wondering all day about that... (just kidding James).

I emailed the seller before the auction was binned and he just emailed me back saying the Bishop wasn't included in the lot and for me to make him an offer, I guess he ended up putting it on ebay.

James,

Does that mean the seller isn't holding you to buying the T205s?

Man I guess this is your lesson James on not to post items you think you got a good deal on this board before you get the cards!!! As there are many sharks that do not want anyone to have a good deal unless it is them. Or just want the card for what ever it takes. I know people here will say I just want to help the seller to make sure they get the best price they can, but really come on you don't know this guy and James is a good guy. Just let him get a good deal. Oh well lesson learned right James

Trevor

Hello there,

He decided to change his mind and sell the card separately. I then cancelled the BIN. Not happy about this, but life goes on.

James,

That sounds like a pretty shoddy thing to do after you both had already committed to a deal. Normally, this is exactly the sort of card I would bid on but will avoid this auction altogether now.

Brian,

It wasn't the seller's fault, I thought we had a deal and BIN, and he didn't see it that way. Sometimes e-mail and language can get a little confused. We're not perfect, he sounds like an honest fellow. I shouldn't have said he backed out, he just never thought there was an actual deal. Based on an e-mail, I did. No harm, no foul....moving on happily to other auctions.

James

Well, when you accepted the BIN, that seemed like cementing a deal to me but upon looking closer at that auction, it doesn't appear that he ever mentions the e99 as being a part of it. Sorry it didn't work out for you the way you wanted.

-Brian

the moral of this story is don't be a lazy seller. Scan each card or lot in one scan. I hate the scans that show four cards yet only one is offered. That can be confusing even to the experienced.(as was sen here )

Most sellers would indicate that "only the 4 cards mentioned in the item description are for sale". In this case the seller indicated 4 T205s for sale but left the E99 in the photo. The seller did a poor job with the item description photo.

Default E99 Bishop Color Question.....

Posted By: leon

I was speaking with a major dealer yesterday and we both lamented on the time it takes to scan. I have absolutely no issue with muliple cards in scans HOWEVER the description of what is being sold needs to be very clear. I know David Levin (and myself) both use mulitple card scans sometimes and I haven't had anyone be upset or make a mistake with mine. My guess is David doesn't have too many issues either. As for this auction something wasn't right. Also, this person, that ran this auction, just posted links to his auctions on our BST thread, in the wrong place, of course. They have been summarily deleted and I am waiting for an explanation of what went on, in the auction, from the seller, before he reposts. Innocent mistake then no worries. Renegging would require an honest explanation. Us moderators aren't going to police flea bay or take action on something that happens there but when it gets posted on our BST then we do have an interest....best regards...moderator dude

edited to add I did just notice the seller put the posts in the correct BST section with an honest explanation. With under a 99% ebay rating this kind of issue has probably happened before....I would recommend being more careful in the future.....

Can someone post a gallery of the back color varieties? I've seen yellow, purple and probably one or two others, but I've seen a black back. Thanks, Andy

How often are the cards which only show the heads encountered? Card Pricer has eight images, none solely heads.

You can't beat the ol' "floating head" images.

Back to color question .... Leon posts what I would call a "red" which has not been mentioned as a possible e99 color. Is this the same color as what M. Macrae mentioned as "Pink?" Two different colors, or just nomenclature ???

Great cards ........ (although you might want to resize them ... )

I personally like the Gilliam Squires stamp. That guy must have had a hell of a collection. His name is tamped on a lot of cards.
