I’m not sure how they get comfortable just about anywhere and in some contorted positions.

I had to put my elderly Great Pyrenees-Anatolian down a couple months ago. No sympathy needed. He had a great run. I really want another Pyrenees, but we still have two large dogs in a small house and my wife is somewhat relieved that there isn't a coating of white hair on everything an hour after we've cleaned. So, it will be a few years before I can get another polar bear.

However, we have had an interesting visitor recently. Because we live in the country, there is a relative steady supply of stray/feral cats. All of our house cats and barn cats were once strays. Most we got as kittens when they are less wary of humans, but we domesticated one adult. So, we generally keep a bowl of cat food on our front porch and a game camera out to keep an eye on our visitors. Lately, we haven't had many cats and have been fattening up a couple raccoons. However, ever couple-three weeks we get this fellow visiting.

Walter White (and Black):

Me and G-Dog (Giselle). Unfortunately, she is 15 and has Dogzheimers now, which is a trip and a half, and I don't expect her to last out the summer. At least she won't say mean things to me like my mother did with her dementia...

This is totally comfortable.

Default Meet Patches, A Wonderful English Bulldog Mix

This is Patches (* I named her that a few days ago from her missing patches of hair). I picked her up late last week at the Mesquite, TX, animal shelter. She was picked up as a stray covered in feces and is approximately 1 yr old.
I was going to hold her until last Saturday (2 days ago) when she was going to another Rescue partner to foster. I fell in love with her and adopted her. She is number 7 and every one is like a kid to me...She's so awesome. She'll have a great home she deserves. As this is being typed she is sleeping a foot away. She follows me everywhere I go.

That's awesome, Leon. Good on you.

These 2 varmint's, (all grown up now) along with 2 others, were found at a trailer park and the lady who took these 2 in ended up being allergic to cats.
Same mother, different fathers as one is a Turkish Angora and the other a Nebelung.
My son name them Phineas and Ferb after his childhood favorite cartoon.

I refer to the white one, Phineas, as the Turkish Terror as he is a rather busy cat who needs quite a bit of attention.
Ferb is the complete opposite but does have some of his brothers traits and some we have no doubts that he's picked up from his brother, but overall I believe he is likely the most gentle cat I have ever owned.

90% of each day is spent tending to cats - the three rescuees (is that a word?) we have inside, and (literally!) no fewer than 10 strays outside who we feed and provide shelter for each and every day and night. It is insane how many feral cats are trying to survive outside in California. I've always been a dog guy, but it really saddens my heart, so we do what we can.

To tug at the heartstrings and get a cheap "Awwwww...," I present our newest, rescued from the street, jump about cutie, Hopps, named as an ode to a (now-defunct?) baseball card brand...
