Default New E90-1 variation?

I have this E90-1 of Phelps that has a bluish uniform and red cap. There is some reddish tint evident near glove (and paper loss) and at chest as well. As seen on the backside there is also some red on the left border.

Has anyone seen this before, and any thoughts on it? I have included an additional scan featuring the normal Phelps with normal gray uniform and cap as well for comparison.

My guess would be hand colored with crayon or colored pencils. Can you confirm they're printed on?

For example,

I think it is possible. After your comment I did check it with a black light, and although overall nothing looked out of line and it seemed to be printed color, I did notice a couple of pinpoint spots of paper loss above his belt and just to left of the large area of paper loss that showed up as a different shade of blue, which makes me think that there was coloring applied over these existing tiny areas of paper loss, and then perhaps the bigger areas of paper loss occurred afterward.

It would be interesting to have someone check it out who, admittedly, has more knowledge and a better eye than I.

Aside from the laziness of it (not lining up with the hat well), the red splotching on the back of the card made me think the kid who owned them did a couple and stacked them on top of each other. Over time, the color bled onto the back of the top one like a wet sheet transfer.

I would go with color bleed from other cards. Or possibly just a substance got on it over the years. If it was a T206 it would be a huge find.

To me the light blue vs dark blue uniform is more interesting.
