I noticed in one of the rookie threads that Joann was teasing me about my user name (PaulPaulPaul). I just thought I'd set the record straight. I don't have multiple personality disorder. And neither do I.

What happened is that I did not register for the forum until it became mandatory. At that time, I tried to register as "Paul," but that name was taken. So, for reasons I can't explain, I tried "PaulPaul." I was stunned to find that this was taken too. So, in anger, I tried "PaulPaulPaul" and it worked. I guess if I hadn't gotten so worked up over it I would have come up with a better name.

Hey Pauls,

A great story for you all to have shared. Thanks to each of you.

The first item I bid on was an E card of Walter Mails. "Duster", "The Great Mails" as he liked to be called. I'd looked at eBay a few times, but never bid. Then I saw this card. And when I tried to bid I learn I have to register!!! Yikes. I recall I had about 16 minutes, which didn't seem like much time. I started trying to register. Time ticked by. Wakefield was taken. Frank was gone. FrankW. My nickname from childhood, Wakey, was taken. Only a few minutes to go... I thought of The Great Mails and without thinking tried Greatwake. It took. I bid. I won the card.... and I was stuck with a bit on an arrogant handle. Just thought at least one of the three of you would get a chuckle out of that.

I've taken some jabs from strangers, with my Ebay handle Husband-of-Tammy. It's good to be different? Right. Will the real Paul please stand up! (Hi Paul)

I noticed HusbandofTammy right away.... thought it was quite catchy.

That's the direction of focus in my home... Oldest 2 kids are out of the house, leaving the wife, teenage twin daughters, and me. I regularly get outvoted, left out of conversations, and the like.

So remain H of T, I kinda like it.

Jim!

So you are Husband-of-Tammy! I've battled a few auctions with you. Glad to know you.

JC -
your name is great and something I (and other married guys I guess) can relate to.
Keep it proudly.

Pauls....
my middle name happens to be Paul.
maybe I should change my handle to paulinthemiddle.

My name (bijoem)... is the first two letters of each of my three kids - put together.
It is something I think about changing every once in a while - but a good name hasn't hit me yet.

I'd like to know why Steve picked Jacklitsch.

Why Dan chose SlideKellySlide

and most important head scratcher....

why is Bruce D's handle "Yankeefan51"?
shouldn't it be fan(s) not fan?
maybe "51YankeeFans" would be better?

"trophybob" or "tbob" for short. No I don't own a trophy making store or fancy myself to be award winning. I used to coach an Americaqn Legion baseball team called "Fort Smith Trophy Sportswear." When I first registered with AOL I tried Bob, BobM, cyberBob, etc. Finally out of desperation I tried trophybob. It worked. Then on ebay I thought (back in the sniper-less days) that it would take too long to type in "trophybob" each time I bid plus it seemed a tad ostentatious, so I shortened to tbob. Other than 54ers, no one has called me trophybob or tbob in my life!

because when I signed onto AOL all those years ago; I wanted to have a name that showed the SABR (Society of American Baseball) background and needed a second part. Figured Geek was as good as any to use (Rich was already taken)

And anyone who knows me - figures it is a good name

Regards
Rich

My eBay handle, myachelydra, is a combination of the Genus names of the soft shell clam (Mya arenaria) and the snapping turtle (Chelydra serpentina). My wife studied the clam for her Master's thesis and I did my research on the snapping turtle.

For those of you who have emailed me and wondered about the email address it is my wife's. "Clamhead" for obvious reasons and "13" which was her college basketball uniform number.

Paul:

I think that, in all future 54 posts, you should refer to yourself as "we." I think people would get a real kick out of that.
