Too much consternation on Net54, lately....here's Blondie (Studio 54) to entertain us

One of my favorite Singers in the late 1970's to early 1980's was Debbie Harry. Every time I hear her songs, I have flash-backs to my early BB card
collecting days (when I returned to the hobby).

Perhaps, all this "nasty" rhetoric on Net54 regarding card trimming, TPG's, bad grading practices, etc., etc. can be dispensed with and we can return
to more meaningful conversations related to BB card collecting on Net54.

It's been going on for decades, and many in this hobby have known this.

However, for a good number of us in this hobby, who don't live (or die) by the graded-card-syndrome, this crisis is NOT traumatic. We just keep-on collecting....all our favorite BB
players from our favorite sets.

Thats a rare one. She still has 4 sharp corners. Presents well and tremendous eye appeal. Would not look out of place in a 10 holder.

I met Blondie back in the day in my old stomping grounds in Jersey City.
Her lead guitar player Frank Infante lived around the corner from me and invited her to come and have drinks in our local bar . She arrived in a Limo and only stayed a few minutes. She looked even better in person.

My teenage daughters....Debbie and Zoe....at the time got me "hooked" on Debbie Harry.
"The Tide is High" was always my favorite Blondie's song.




Now this is what I'm referring to as "more meaningful conversations". Where we aren't "busting each other's chops" over the ongoing TPG fiasco.

Stevie Nicks and Christine McVie of Fleetwood Mac rank high on my favorite list.

There are just too many great 1960's - 1970's groups that we could list here. My
all-time favorite group of that era is CHICAGO. You had to see and hear them live
to really appreciate them.

I was at the Westbury Music Fair (LI, NY) in the early 1970's, when the original group put on a tremendous performance.
Afterwards, Chicago treated us to several encore's at the end of the concert responding to the audience's many requests.

Saw Chicago again in 1993 at the Valley Forge Music Fair. They weren't quite the original group; however, their Jazz-Rock
sound was still sensational.

I have had the pleasure of meeting Debbie Harry a few times while she was in Blondie and when she was performing with the Jazz Passengers. My favorite songs by the band are their cover of the Randy and the Rainbows song 'Denise' and the comeback hit 'Maria'.

I bought a 45 copy of Heart of Glass when I was a kid. For a while the only records I had were Blondie and Styx Renegade.

I saw the Cetera Chicago at the Houston Rodeo at the Astrodome in the early 80's. Great concert.

CCR has always been one of my favorite bands. Proud Mary is my favorite CCR song.

I also think Jim and John are probably related. Jim was featured in many 19th century issues...

You may be right, and then, Rob may be right. In any event, I suggested a possible John / Jim connection simply due to their common names and birthplace

Let's not take this too serious....for with this thread, I'm just trying to lighten up the ongoing mood on this forum this past month regarding the TPG fiasco(s).

I'm married to an Irish gal. And I have noticed with the Irish that it's not unusual for them to slightly modify the spelling of their surnames (especially vowels).
